Started for Argentina against Australia today.

Key take aways: Recovers the ball very well, interested to see how quick we will be on the counter with all the pace up front and Mac Allister routinely stealing and feeding the ball.

59 minutes played, barely missed a pass, dribbled a bunch, looks very calm on the ball.

I might understand if you didn't follow the world cup, but Brighton made a lot of noises last season, and he was one of their best players.

Weren’t the press quoting 70m for Mac Allister? Everyone was shocked by the fee we paid initially.

I like this signing. His ability to resist physical pressure with the ball reminds me of Gini. I’m hoping he’s as good as Gini was for us. On his own though I’m not sure he really moves the needle that much. At least one of Fabinho and Henderson need replacing too.

Had to go and buy a sander at the weekend, genius marketing idea from Mac Allister tools I have to say. Did the job neatly, no fuss, very smooth on the eye. The other tool makers are going to have to step up if they want my custom back. Though I do like the look of young Kylian Bosch at Karlsruhe.

All things we desperately need. Even without any new additions if you stick him and Jones into this team with Henderson/Fabinho at 6 and Trent inverting we'll already be a much better team. Which is good!

I have good feelings about him. I think he's going to be a great tempo setter in the team, and will be great at keeping the ball moving and being available for passes (especially when he's Liverpool fit). He's going to be the fan favorite who opposition fans don't 'get what he brings to the team' but keeps our midfield ticking, I just know it. Hope he chips in with a few goals as well.

Agreed. He's going to be silkier Wijnaldum, which is what we need in our midfield. I personally think his dribbling is a bit underrated. You saw how effective he was at the World Cup and his linkup with Messi and co. Can't wait to see him sync with our frontline!
