Think they'd only had one chance before the goal. More of the ball but wouldn't say they were dominant

They had pretty much all of the ball to be honest before the goal, at one point we were literally just lumping it clear and setting up for the next Porto attack

Henoc Mukendi is a former Liverpool FC player who came up through the ranks at the academy of the club.

Today he talks to us about the dark side of professional football, growing up with Raheem Sterling, training with Steven Gerrard, turning down PSG and how brutal life with agents can be!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc-7iGy5uJA&t=7s

It's a long listen, but a very interesting story. People who work at the club to this day (if his story is true) treated him really badly.

Cannonier and Frauendorf with goals against Sunderland. They look to be the very brightest in attack in that u18s group.

Blair adds a third goal late on.

Wow, never knew that story. As you say, all stories have two sides, but this really doesn't paint certain figures at the club in a good light at all.

Morton is looking good. If he's not quite knocking on then door yet, he's coming up the drive.

Ah damn, 2-0 to them

65 minutes, 3-0 down and realistically could be 4/5 already. Do these lads genuinely gain anything from regular thrashings in these games? I just don't see it.

Great ball in by Morton, though when Hendo does it he gets scragged

Didn't catch any of the game, but it's a strange competition that, isn't it.

Anyway, a few weeks to the Preston game in the cup which will surely be interesting, and a good chance to progress. I think for sure Gordon and Bradley will retain their places. Could even see Morton again who's having a good time of it at the minute. I think Preston will give us a better game than Norwich did, to be fair.

I think Neco will play ahead of Bradley, I can't see how they'd both fit in the same XI and Neco needs the games.

Depends on who they see as the bigger prospect though. Why give the games to Williams when you think Bradley has a brighter future? There's been murmurings from the club for quite a while that they think that is the case. It will be interesting to see what happens there.

I’d expect/hope Morton to get at the least some minutes off the bench. Obviously dependent on Thiago and Trent’s injuries, but if they’re still being eased in, then you’d maybe expect both of Jones and Keita to not be involved, along with even Milner. So possibly a couple of spots up for grabs in the midfield.

Sounds a little like the Williams, Hoever situation. Hoever left but Williams doesn't seem to have pushed on massively since and now Bradleys put in a great performance against a premier league side when given the opportunity. Is he going to be deemed to have earned another chance and an opportunity to push for time in a league game or is Williams still in a position where he is regarded as a good enough RB?

Going by reports, Williams could have gone in summer given a good offer coming in but then you've often gotta take these reports with a pinch of salt

Don’t know why we haven’t played him in CM more often this season, I think his physical and athletic attributes would provide a good compliment to Morton and Balagizi or Corness at times.

Though if we believe what the NI manager Ian Baraclough has been saying then Klopp is planning to convert  Bradley into a right-sided midfielder. Trent-as-midfielder fans will be apoplectic

Maybe because in the short term you might have to play Neco in a PL game this season that Bradley isn't ready for physically/mentally yet. I do agree that Bradley is the better long term prospect however.

Also, maybe Bradley is mentally ready for it — I'm just playing devil's advocate.

At this stage in his career, Neco probably needs a loan to get game time. Milner would be chosen over him when Trent isn't available, especially in bigger games. The odd cup game he gets wouldn't grant him the same momentum in his development if he was younger. And in the same vein, arguably, Bradley would get the bigger boost to his development by being involved in the cup games.

I think its more the case that Milner would be chosen over him when Trent isn't available...in bigger games. If Neco is fit I'd guess he'd get games against quite a few teams if Trent wasn't playing, but probably want that more experienced head against better teams. But I guess we'll see as the season progresses.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
