The THREE positive things to get out from the Spurs game
« on: April 29, 2002, 04:59:19 am »
(1) The boss and the fans knows that we are not there yet and the squad need strengthening;

(2) Markus Babbel would probably get 10-15 minutes in the Ipswich game -- let's give the German a big cheer when he comes on;

(3) (And most importantly) There is no more need for us to cheer Scumchester United to beat Arsenal come May 8th.  We can now cheer for Arsenal to beat the sh*t out of Scumchester so that we can finish ahead of them.

With the possible exception of your number 2, above, the words "grasping", "at, and "straws" come to mind.

As someone else has said, the luck (yes, we had some) we had against Chelsea and Sunderland ran out on Saturday.

But we really lost it - bottled it? - in the home draws against Bolton and Southampton - poor displays and questionable tactics - and away against Southampton, our worst performance of the season and probably longer.

Still, gotta be confident for next season.

Don't think we bottled against Spurs.  We lost the battle, was a bit at lost at how to crack their defence but hve never stopped trying.  I'll consider the performances against the Saints  et al earlier in the season bottling - we were too afraid too lose then.

Still, there've been as much frustrations as joy this season and there's more hope for the next.  :D
