Thanks for that.

Makes you excited for the future to know that talent like theirs is on their way. One up for Ged again!

Thanks Chris

Comparisons:

"Le Tallec with Trézeguet definitely. He is tall, a good header of the ball, with good technique. Pongolle is perhaps like Shevchenko".

I thought Le Tallec was more of an attacking midfielder??

Still, whatever... fabulous acquisitions... and very exciting times ahead...  :)

Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple - Bill Shankly.

Don't forget 18 year old Neil Mellor banging in 42 goals for the Academy including some for the reserves...

Excellent article ..

However, I am becoming increasingly ill at ease with the expectation that the fans have for these 2.

As soon as they arrive Im sure there will be lots of media hype, and pressure will be brought to bear upon 2 very young men in a foreign country. Pongolle recently got Glandular Fever, and the story was all over the forums as if it were Ste G or Micahel owen...

Allied to this is the fact that we have owen, heskey, baros (anelka, cisse, mellor?). All are very young forwards who (hopefully) have long careers at Liverpool FC ahead of them.

In this light I think its likely they will be loaned out for at least 1 season, possibly back to Le Havre.
