« on: April 20, 2002, 06:33:38 pm »
We need a michael owen song and fast. Michael owen scores our goals halleujah is not catchy enough here are a few ideas.
Tune:you are my sunshine
You are my Owen,
my Michael Owen,
you make me happy when skies are grey,
forget Van Nistelrooy for he's a wanker
please don't take my owen away.

He does need a new song though. Suggestions?

have you lot forgotten:

When Michael Owen scores a goal,
you can stick your Totti up your hole!
And we all get blind drunk,
When Liverpool win in Rome/ the cup!
Der la la la....

Or:

Michael Owen whoaaaa oh oh,
Michael Owen whoa oh oh.
When he gets the ball in the net,
thats as good, as good as it gets!

Michael Owen....

Or:

One-Nil down,
two-one up!
Michael Owen won the cup!
With a first class Paddy pass,
gave the lad the ball.
Poor old Arsenal won fuck all!

;D
Lets fucking create an atmosphere instead of complaining about it.

I agree. Lets work Owen into the old Fowler chant as he needs the recognition and would send out a signal. The othere Owen songs are great but we need something that those who don't sing may have a quick warble to. It also needs to be fairly easy to remember.

And when he does score you will hear the kop roar...

not a song, but:

Give me an O (O),
Give me an W (W),
Give me an E (E),
Give me an N (N),
What have you got? (GOALS!!!!!)

or (to Robin Hood song):

Michael Owen, Michael Owen, running down the pitch,
Michael Owen, Michael Owen, he'll never ever miss,
Scores for the Reds,
Even with his head,
Michael Owen, Michael Owen ...repeat ad nauseam!  :o  needs work!

def need a one-liner tho, like sami's.

He wears a magic hat
And when he plays for Liverpool
He is a decent lad
He scores them with his left foot
He scores them with his right
And When we play the Utd
He scores all f*****g night!

"Europe's Number One
Europe's Europe's Number One"

Was fitting against Derby...

But the bottom line is too few fans actually know the songs.  How many times have I heard "nick nack paddywack" instead of "top/first class Paddy pass".  Tsk.

Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple - Bill Shankly.

MICHAEL OWEN
MICHAEL OWEN

Watched the old Firm game at the weekend listening to the Celts singing "Champione" and I just started to picture the whole of Anfield shaking singing it to Michael Owen.

Might need to work on the Ole Ole Ole bit (too manc)

Maybe

Michael Owen
Michael Owen
He's scored another goal

Michael Owen
Michael Owen
The God / Saint of Liverpool

Any takers?

Could the reason why the Owen's song is not sang loud enough now is because it is not catchy from the first place?
