As bad as you’d expect in the first half after an exhausting final but never in any doubt that we’ll adjust at half time and take control. Bonus to be ahead at HT.

Don’t think Gomez as the inverted midfielder works. Don’t want to see that in a league game as our defence is completely destabilised. I expect it’s just a solution for today given the injuries.

Rab C Nesbitt on commentary is getting a tad annoying.

Obviously a disjoined performance but too be expected. Done well to stick at it and great for Koumas to get his goal.

Improved as the half wore on. Grabbed a nice goal. Gotta be happy with that

Need to make things more difficult for them to break quickly, a little lucky they haven’t finished well.

Not one to usually complain about the commentary but whoever is on my stream seemed absolutely crushed to the point of depression when that goal went in. Trying to find every reason in the world to put a downer on a kid's first senior goal. You'd think any neutral would at least find some joy when any player gets their first goal but.... he sounded out right depressed. hahaha

About what was expected from that effort. They are playing hard but that's about the level this group should be at it seems. Hard to get rhythm even for the senior players when they just don't know the quirks and movements of the kids.

Our great benefit is having VVD and CK in goal for us. Makes up for a lot of weaknesss or inexperience elsewhere.

I feel for him being put in there, a few people have suggested he plays there but you need certain qualities to play there. He's managed a couple of good balls through but it's obvious he's not comfortable there.

I'm glad we got the goal because it wasn't a great half of football. A disjointed performance against a very good Championship side. Our inexperience really showed in that first half.

They've played their way out of trouble well at times in defence but we're pressing better and winning the ball more.

Quansah is excellent. Makes really good decisions in duels so often

Our midfield has obviously been a bit disjointed and that’s causing us problems. However we’ll get better as the match goes on. McCoist is becoming a real pain to listen to. He made Southampton sound like prime Brazil. The fact is that there was only one difficult save and that was from their keeper…….yet apparently we’ve only had one shot on target according to McCoist.

Quansah was our best player and we’ll have a much better 2nd half.

I have been saying this about McCoist for ages and some people have been reluctant to agree for some reason, he's awful now.

Where you really expecting anything else? Hopefully with the goal they will settle more now and they were coming into it on the latter part of the half.
