Was almost MOTM vs Norwich last month, another great showing from him today. Another really exciting prospect. Should get another chance Wednesday as well

Looks so comfortable with the ball at his feet. No hot potatoes being passed around, and he's got bags of energy to boot.

Excited for this lad.

Hugely impressed with him. Demanding the ball in that caldron and showing real quality, calmness and technical ability when he got it. Him taking the card to stop the counter at one point showed real game intelligence way beyond his years.

There's a big step to becoming a regular in a Liverpool central midfield. I thought he was brilliant in the Norwich FA Cup game and was excellent yesterday, always showing for the ball, always trying to conduct the play.

Early days but certainly another to be excited about.

He's not looked out of place at all, great passer and just instinctively knows what to do when he comes on. It will be interesting to watch his continued development.

He's a player that we need to start playing regularly even if it's 10-20 minute apperances in the next few seasons.

He's very good with both feet and for a young lad, he's strong on the ball.

I think it was someone off The Anfield Wrap who said Bobby Clark should frame the yellow card he got against Arsenal in the cup, and similarly so McConnell should do the same after yesterday, superb

Loved that. We had been opened up and he did brilliantly to take Palmer (?) down.

Looks like that region is starting to produce again.

Miley at Newcastle looks a good one as well.

Was always a hotbed of talent but struggled post-90s. Similar with Scotland.

Sunderland's Academy quite productive at the moment as well.

I don't think the region ever stopped producing good young talent. But both Newcastle and Sunderland severely under invested in their respective academies and facilities over a number of years. That young talent drifted away to clubs like us where their potential could be better realised and where they knew they'd have better opportunities.

Might be something that NUFC in particular address in the near future. I know it galls my brother - a Toon supporter - to see both Clark & McConnell getting games for us and looking as good as they do.

He looks so youngs. What strikes me about him is his intelligence. Always seems to have time on the ball. Very good touch, comfortable on either foot and strong on the ball. You'll see more from him as he keeps developing physically.

Very very talented boy.

The bit where he came deep in the midfield to take the ball off the centrebacks, let it roll so he took it on the turn, then drove up the pitch and dropped the shoulder to go past another player then nearly played in Harvey. Just lovely football that.

That yellow card he took was beautiful. Like Clark’s against Arsenal.

Having the vision and intelligence to see the big picture and understand that the team might be trouble.

Other things like his controlled passing and control of the game.

He’s a player.

We’ve missed that for suchhh a long time. The years of seeing our midfielders allow players to just run past only for us to concede seconds later

He’s quite athletic isn’t he…very nice insurance option for the bench

If xabi comes and wants to play 3 at the back, we will have too many midfielders, but I dare say he might be moulded into a RCB

In addition to their attitudes and technical prowess, I like how the next crop of midfielders are decently sized units - McConnell, Morton and Clark are about 6 foot and still filling out.

His two footedness is super impressive. His passing with his left looks as his right foot too.
