yet again outright lies go unchallenged on sky. warnock questioned why Gakpo looked round which gave Taylor the opportunity to blow the whistle, he didnt . Gakpo runs toward the ball then hears a whistle THEN turns around. we HAVE to ask for the audio. it will prove once and for all if taylor did say 'go down' to the keeper, if he did he can surely never referee in the top league again. If they dont release the audio its just as bad - we'll all say its because he admitted he fucked up. whichever only a complete biased group would give Taylor a Liverpool game again, and we know he'll probably get jurgens last home game.

I meant more that if Gakpo had scored then it would have forced it into a bigger issue.  Taylor would have had to justify why he blew his whistle and disallowed the goal rather than the theoretical that is currently is.  As it stands it's had almost zero attention, certainly far less than the Gabriel (non-)handball against Bayern.

I've been the ref for my sons' teams a few times and when you see your son's team - or worse your own son - make crazy decisions it's very hard not to intervene.  Taylor seemingly telling Areola to go down comes across as that sort of subconscious bias.  Maybe home team bias, maybe underdog bias, maybe anti-LFC bias - but certainly seems like something that wouldn't have happened at the other end of the pitch.  I guess we'll never know for sure though.

Should we let Salah go on a free to boost the net spend if its the all important metric? This past 12 months has seen plenty of evidence that just spending more money has no correlation to achieving anything

What we do need is to make more good decisions on recruitment and add 3 or 4 players who can make a big contribution to the team. Getting Edwards back in is a big boost to this

Exactly, Matip and Thiago will leave so I'd expect their wages will be used to renew contracts and give us some flexibility to improve the squad via transfers.

People will hate it because ya know agendas but Bradley and Quansah will save us fortunes. Likewise I'm excited to see what the future holds for Beck, Bajcetic, Carvalho, Gordon, Doak etc. etc.

The squad needs 2-3 signings of elite cusp players but Slot is all about getting youngsters in for their energy so I'd expect more to step up just as much as we sign some players.

Salah expected to stay next season, says Ornstein.

Good news. Slot has apparently said he wants him. You'd like to think if he is still doing it there could be a new contract next season.

Was really encouraging to see him put on the afterburners vs West Ham. He was the sharpest i've seen him look.

Think we may have underestimated the effect that (rare) injury had on him. He was still contributing in moments (great passes, the odd goal) but not as frequent as before. Also the midfield is still a disjointed mess so hopefully a key addition in the 6 will sort that out plus the 8s being in their natural advanced position (and having bedded in), and a functioning midfield with 8s not having to do the work of two men will enhance the attacking threat. So much of the play through midfield has been slow, and the chances (while there have been many in games) are often very difficult. 28 shots vs West Ham, yet very few clear cut opportunities.

Odd one - easiest way of getting a name off the back of the shirt? Got a baby's kit for my little one at a car boot sale for £4 and it's got the original kid's name on it. Not a huge problem if it doesn't come up, it's to chuck on on the beach, probably end up getting left in Spain with a load of knackered clothes ;D.

This stuff works but you'll probably be left with a faint outline from the adhesive residue where the name and number used to be: https://www.xpres.co.uk/transfer-remover-spray-for-garment-film-htv-400ml

It's like ~£22 a can though so may not be worth it just for a one off.

Exactly. I've been critical of Gakpo this season..but this is all on that bald Manc prick.

He's shit his kecks big time.

Honestly wild that a linesman elbowing our left back is only the third maddest thing that's happened to us in just over 12 months

Crikey, not a bad fee that. Granted he seemed irreplaceable for us back then.

There were a hell of a lot of conditions though and I don't think it was £100m straight up. For example a very large part of the add ons were on the condition they won the Club World Cup. It was farcical.
