Liverpool is  playing much better now, compared to  when Luis Suarez was on the team.

I've been trying to play it cool about Klopp, not wanting to get too carried away, not wanting to act like some hysterical fanboy...but it's becoming increasingly difficult to maintain my phlegmatic temperament.

Well he's right. As a team we look far more complete at the moment, obviously everybody and their fucking dog would have Suarez back here in a heartbeat but we don't rely on as much individual brilliance at the moment.

Fantastic result! The only slight disappointment for me is that we can't transfer excess goals onto our goal difference in the league, we could use them ;D

The fact Moreno/Origi's goal was probably the worst of the 6 says it all!

What does everyone think was the best goal.
. I hand it to Sturridge  for his first. Scoring from that angle is really difficult.

Imagine if we could play like that at home? Love what we did tonight and the other away games but for me until we start to repeat it at anfield am going to contain som excitement. We would be a force if we could play that well at home too.

I think Daniel, Coutinho and Firmino will come into their own against tight defences.

This game will do wonders for the youngsters especially Origi. Hes great with the ball at his feet, the tandem of him and Sturridge was really interesting. You could see how Origi was always looking to give Sturridge the ball, reminds me a little of the SAS where Sturridge would look for Suarez. He has a bit of pace too given his height.

They were all sublime really, i think Origi's thunderbolt was the best, but Sturridges finishes were great also.

I would say Origi's second for the shot but Daniel's second for Can's turn and pass and then a well taken finish after. Even so Ibe's goal was awesome too.

I think Sturridge's first goal was really important, really lifted the whole team. Not many players in the league could have scored that after making a terrible first like he did.

Klopp's first 5 away games as Reds boss... 4 wins, 1 draw.
14 goals scored (2.8 goals per game), 3 conceded.

Not bad considering you had city, chelsea, saints and spurs in there. Plus a 5000 mile round trip for the other one against kazan.

Come to think of it... they were all quite good weren't they? But Origi's second was a combination of beauty (in the build-up) & raw power (Origi's finish). The pick of the bunch. Can's chop and pass for Sturridge's second was sensational. Can is a funny player. He has the tendency to do things really well or really poorly. Just needs to improve his decision making.

6 of our next 8 games are away from home, followed by an FA Cup game (tbd) and the two home games against Arsenal and United, so we won't be playing against many packed defenses at Anfield in the coming 6 weeks.

West Brom and Leicester will surely try to frustrate us though, and some of the teams we play away from home probably won't mind sitting back a fair deal either (Newcastle, Watford, Sunderland, West Ham, Stoke), though being at home you'd expect them to at least have something of a go.

How is one supposed to choose a winner from these?!

Sturridge tight angle finish to finish a swift counter
Sturridge clean finish from a sublime pass
Origi off a Moreno thunderbolt
Origi thunderbolt
Ibe chesting down Moreno's perfect cross and drilling it
Origi's classic header from Smith's delightful cross

I'll give it to Sturridge for the first goal because it took the most individual skill and was the most important. Could make a strong case for any of the 6 though.

It was also the biggest league cup win against a top-flight team in Liverpool history  8)

Think about that for a second, and let it sink in.

Klopp has been here 2 months, and only played two league cup games, but has already set the club record in the league cup, at the club that has won the league cup more times than any other.

It's just absurd!

Unbelievable improvement. How do you go from OK to amazing in about a month? Sturridge scoring was so pleasing. If we have a fit attack...title challenge?

We always had the squad. We needed someone to get the best out of them which is what is happening now. All the players are on board as opposed to before when players were suspiciously picked or dropped for reasons other than ability and performance.  I am not surprised we are doing this to teams.

All the goals were fantastic but I found Sturridge's first and Origi's second particularly satisfying, as how many times in the last 18 months have we watched our shots from those areas consistently blaze wide or trickle into the keeper's hands? It feels like we never score from those types of chances anymore - if we can be a bit more clinical with our half-chances it'll make the difference between confidence-boosting results like this one (with that confidence boost only making it more likely for us to score those half-chances in future games) and frustrating draws and defeats. Very positive signs indeed.

We definitely look more comple now, but that is more to do with a manager who can actually set up a defence and values a proper DM. Just imagine the 13/14 team under Klopp with a proper DM and who are set up to be tight defensively. We would have walked the league.
