Just read what Rodgers had to say about him.
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/146734-boss-appreciates-suarez-attitude

It's no secret, but credit to both for it. To Suarez for showing that desire and credit to Rodgers for the way he's handled things. It's been difficult, but I reckon he's been spot on. Hopefully, we have something to build on. I still believe that Suarez can be a player who happily stays for another five years.
I agree with that but then it is down to being successful and getting into the Champions League. If we finish top four this season I can easily see there being no trouble at all next summer as regards to Luis

I think Luis has always had that winning attitude. And as Rodgers says in that piece (which is actually a piece about needing that winning mentality as a team - using Luis as the example), we need more of that throughout the team. It's why I'm a massive fan of Toure coming in as well.

We need more of those players, and to make sure we keep the ones we do have. That way, we go into every game not only believing we can win "on our day", but expecting to do so.

I watched Muamba's interview on the lfc site yesterday - he was visiting Melwood for a tv show he was doing. In it, they showed a clip of him interviewing Toure. Muamba asks Toure what this Liverpool team could do this season. Without hesitation he says go for the Championship. Not "we finished 7th last season, so we're hoping to get into the CL places, we're confident we can challenge..." but straight to the fucking point, "the Championship"! It reminded me of Torres, fresh from scoring the winning goal at the Euro final, was saying that "we're going to win the title". Ok, it was perhaps more believable back then, but it goes to show.

We need our team to be like the Suarez and Toures of this world when it comes to that will to win.

Think Liverpool and Rodgers have handled this whole thing extremely well.

Hopefully Luis wants to be here, but if not then as long as he gives his all for this season, that's all that matters.

Aerosmith played in Montevideo last night. Tyler specifically asked for Suarez' shirt in his contract, apparently.

If we have Champions League next season, and if our owners show enough ambition in the transfer market, I can easily see Suarez signing a new improved contract next summer.

A bit different as Gerrard was given permission to do it as a landmark of achieving 500 appearances for the club. He didn't demand that the club let him do it after a summer of throwing his toys out of the pram as Suarez did.

So one line of debate with a mate the other day -

"Keep him for as long as possible, even if that means him going on a free transfer. Because he'll get us in to the Champions Leauge, and no money can replace what he'd bring us in those three years"

What are the thoughts on that? It's an interesting one for sure. A bit like Dortmund are doing with Lewadowski.

Bale cost £85m but has a lot more commercial value due to his good boy image, which Suarez doesn't have for obvious reasons.

Still, I would be looking for £60m+ because he is one of the best forwards on the planet. Better than Bale anyway.

I think it's hard to determine what we can get for suarez if and when we decide to sell.

If clubs come sniffing around in January and assuming we are in the top four or close to you could hope that if the club decided to sell him it would be for an inflated price given we are in a position of strength at the time and suarez won't be cup tied for those competitions.

If we wait till the end of the season and miss out on champions league I would expect he would go for a lot less then the situation above.

If we make top four and he still wants to go it would still be a better position then the 2nd scenario but not as lucrative as the first.

Given he has still a fair bit of time on his contract I would hope it would be at minimum 40mill and depending on the above to around 60 or above.

There is no way - absoutely no way - that Real will let Morata leave. He's one of Spain's best prospects and a Real fan favourite.
