Doing this for say a random 10% each time would be an option.
But there's no way 3400 people can collect tickets without any major fuck ups.

We arrive late on Wednesday and just wanna enjoy the match day and don't have to stand in a fucking queue for hours and hours!

Would have been OK if the person collecting on someone else's credit actually got a credit themselves.

Yeah this would have worked better to be honest.

Afterall, the person turning up is likely the one going the match.

Not inconvenient if you were in Augsburg already and got there early enough (like us)

But as lots stayed in Munich and traveled in on the day of the game some were stood outside in the freezing cold for up to 2 hrs - which was damn shite.

Other thing is that you have to carry your passport round as proof of ID - Again OK if you were staying in Augsburg, and could drop it back off at the hotel, but just another thing to worry about losing if you weren't

Ditto with your season tkt!
We are a team of one half.

Ah right. I assume it's to stop the touts? Shame it's at the expense of fans who want to relax and enjoy their day.
It's nothing to do with credits or touts. It's designed primarily so the club can inform the relevant authorites of how many fans are ACTUALLY traveling to the game... and who can blame them in that respect? Selling 2000 tickets for bordeaux and then only 4 or 500 turning up is just taking the piss.

Given the popularity surrounding this fixture, there's no question that they'll be a full away end so I can't see them implementing a collection system for this. But when we get draws with sizeable allocations that doesn't carry the same appeal as this say, people without credits will start see the benefits of this system, as credit hunters will struggle to shift tickets the criteria will just keep dropping...

No benefits but they did it at Augsburg, and they announced that they may this round.

Surely the benefit is that the people who actually went over got the credits? And subsequently there was no point buying if you weren't going over, and therefore that frees up tickets for the genuine Euro away travellers, rather than those buying for credit who only want them for Madrid and Barcelona?

Or have I misunderstood?

Is Pyro allowed in Germany?

those who lit it up in the square of Augsburg were arrested pretty quickly and some local said that they will get a 100€ fine for it. Dont know how much they did get in the end though.

So I would think that NO :P

you have misunderstood it if you werent going but qualified for a ticket as long as you arranged before ordering the ticket who was collecting it you could name them to pick it up and the person who ordered the ticket still got the credit rather than the person who attended the game

I've used Sport Options before for England aways and there spot on, have everything sorted for you, coaches to the city centre before the game and usually straight back to the airport after the game.

England aways are normally collection only too and Sport Options sort the coach to go to the pick up point too if they do the same for Dortmund as Augsburg.

That makes little sense if so many are collecting on the day of the game. Surely the authorities would want to know well advance to have sufficient time to plan.

I doubt it mate.....we've just been done by Uefa for doing it at OT, so would have thought they're even stricter about it there.

Just had this off my mate who I'm flying with on the Wednesday on the 7:40am from Stanstead into Cologne. Possible lift also from Northwest. Flies back from Cologne on the Friday at 9:50.

If anyone knows anyone who wants to come. They can pay Ł180 for it to come on our flights. They're currently at Ł265. Ł70 plus Ł110 for the name change

PM if interested

Anyone used or using those Sport Options or World Choice sites? Could be a useful back-up option, are they reliable?

I'm really annoyed I didn't wait for this. I'm struggling at work for days off, and could have just had off 1 and a half days instead of 2. Sounds daft but it would have really helped me out. That price isn't that terrible. Other than some food/drink and your ticket that's all you need to pay.

They are absolutely fine and legit. The ONLY problem I've read is that sometimes if there is a low take up they can pull the deal leaving you close to the date and therefore stuck. It's a slight gamble in that respect. I can understand they have a profit point they need to hit. Sometimes if you contact they can tell you the likelihood as they should have a count of the bookings.

Thomas Cook did the day trips last year which are the same thing (they did day trip options with and without ticket). Plane. Bus to City Centre, Bus from City Centre to Stadium, Game, Bus from Stadium to Airport. Home. Or sometimes it might just be City Centre and then own way to stadium. Quite good not having to think about how to get to the stadium and what time - just know to be back at the coach for a certain time. Sometimes give you a police escort as well.

With the TC trip it's different than doing it yourself but it's really convenient. Just get yourself and passport to the airport and everything is sorted for you - don't even need a bag. Some might say a bit 'tame' but depends on a few things really on what you want out of it. Basel for example last year you'd be hard pressed to find anything to do there for more than 1 hour (other than drink and/or kick a ball in the air as high as possible - ahh great memories there - I even did 4 countries in 1 day it's that small - walked into Germany/France from Switzerland and of course UK). If you do quite a few aways you can burn through holiday allocations at work if you can even get the days off at such short notice. It very much depends! Worth considering and mixing/matching whatever suits for whatever time and ideas you have so yeah - reliable as long as the trip goes ahead.

More reliable than the club with that 'free coach' they stuck on in Istanbul last year.

What part exactly? I said there won't a collection in place for this game (in my opinion atleast). If you're referring to my last point i'm talking about fixtures where we'd never sell out anyway, games such as Bordeaux or Istanbul for example. It's perfectly straight forward.

If youre going back the same day then look at the day unlimited travel ticket for regional trains, 29.50€ for 1 person or 43€ for 2-5 people

Thanks a lot. I've used TC before, this is definitely an option providing they don't cancel late on which was my concern. Might give them a ring. It reads to me as if both firms are using the same flight judging by times, so hopefully that lessens the cancellation fears.

Ticket collection was an absolute farce

We left it a bit later and it was a piece of piss, took no more than 2 minutes and no queues. Had a couple of bevies in there and then walked round the corner to the trams.

All take less than hour and plenty of choice within the hour. How about the 15.53 gets you there @16.41 for 17.50 Euro single or 4pm gets you there 16.46 @ 19 Euro....

Or have I misunderstood?

Can't that benefit be achieved in another way? Proof of travel to be supplied or the credit gets taken away?

The club loves to treat us as "customers" when it suits them. What kind of customer service is forcing people to give up precious time of their expensive trip to collect the one item the trip is primarily for? Surely there is another way?

Would you go on a package holiday if you had to queue up for hours to get a ticket to use the pool/beach?

Agreed, but proof of travel has been proven to be very easy to fake

If they stamped your passport like they used to then that would be far better, but as they don't if credit hunting is to be reduced there's not many other options than this
