Watching him is pure unadulterated joy! he is on another planet. there are no words left.
Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

Can't find a superlative that would be fitting for him, the form he's in at present.

The Argentinian Bendtner.
haha

really looking forward to that clash between the two best players in the world but in all seriousness I just hope Messi doesn't dissapoint, mostly because I don't want Arsenal to go through but more because it would give sky more of a chance to wank over rooney.

Still can't believe couple of dumb c*nts at work think messi is "nothing special"

"Just doesn't do it for me"

"what's so good about him"

Same kind of people who put rooney and beckham in their ALL TIME world XI
"You have to admire animals. Hamster spun round in a wheel three times bigger than him and abruptly lands on his back. Then just gets up and carries on as if nothing happened! If that was a human he'd be helicoptered to hospital, off work for 6 months have back issues for 20 years and then start legal proceedings against the wheels owner"

The thing is Stuss, the highlights don't show the beginning of the second goal. He takes on a big hombre at the edge of the centre circle and looks like he has no right to win the ball, but he muscles the bloke off and has the chance to go down and feign injury or get the guy carded, but no, he's up in a flash and sprinting with the ball glued to the tongue of his boot, and that's when the footage kicks in. Absolutely breathtaking.

You're not wrong, Roy. He's such a short-arse and he just hustles that big lad off the ball and then slices through with such swiftness violence and delicacy.

I was watching the lad with my head in my hands in disbelief. He'll go on that pantheon with Maradona and Pele. If he's not on it already (he is for me personally).

Definitely the best player in my generation I think.

I've decided to go to Barcelona over easter break to try and see this team. It's the best football I've ever seen, with a real diamond of a player at the heart of it. Need to do it even though I should be preparing for final exams in my last year at uni!

Looked as if the Zaragoza fans were smiling and applauding him in that video. Nothing else to do really, they were probably as amazed as everyone else.

Definitely the best player I've ever seen. Last couple of weeks has really cemented him above Zidane on my list.

It's kind of upsetting watching that knowing that he'll never play for us. :(

I suppose every other fan, apart from barca fans, in the world feels the same way though.

But if he isn't playing for us you've got to be kind of glad it's Barca he's gracing. Better that than Real Madrid, Man Utd or Chelsea.

I'd put messi on maybe the third or fourth "tier" of the best footballers of all time.

         Maradona, Pele
Zidane, Cryuff, Di stefano
Muller, Zico, Platini, Hagi, beckenbaeur, eusibio
ronaldo, platini, best, puskas, van basten
messi, batistuta, recoba

just my opinion

After he scored that second, the whole bench was going mental. Some bloke even had his hands on his head and a face which exactly epitomised "what the fuck am I seeing here?!"

The only one unphased by it seemed to be Guardiola. But even he allowed himself a smile after his 3rd!

What exactly do they want him to 'do' for them? That kind of comment makes no sense to me at all. It's not subjective.

It is at some level at least though no? For example; Ronaldo's one of the best players this decade on paper, but he does fuck all for me. I hate watching the c*nt if I'm honest. He's class, I respect that, but it's not the same as watching players like Torres, Gerrard, Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso and Messi for me. Not at all.

One thing I find funny though is that Argentinians don't regard Messi as that great because he's not done anything for them. What an attitude! I have a feeling he might just explode on the international scene this summer. Providing the other little Argentinian magician doesn't do silly things like play Gutierrez instead of him or something!

On an otherwise shitty day, that kid let me once again, leave all the other football related bollocks to one side and feel again, why I fell in love with a game that I'm rapidly falling out of love with.

Absolute class in EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD.

I know all this hyperbole is cringe-worthy, but what else can ya say?
