Heart says Mario.
I think it will be Ibe. I really do think he'll blossom into a fine player.

Think Ings, Allen, Lallana and Markovic will all have big seasons.

I'd go for Ibe, I think he's brilliant and will be a big asset in the team going forward.

Markovic for me. Kid has everything in his locker except aggression. Hopefully after a year at the club, and with the change in coaches, we'll see him consistently add that to his game. Only time he really played aggressively he wrecked Sunderland in their own house. Don't see a 20 year old do that very often, and especially not when he considers himself a left winger.

Think Can will live up to increased expectations, and Ings and Origi will have some terrific moments, but show a bit of inconsistency. I think Milner will be better than many expect, and lastly, I think Firmino and Coutinho as a pair will maul a few good teams.

Lallana for me providing he gets enough game time/avoids injuries

Same here. Every time he got into his rhythm last season he got a niggle. Avoid that, and he might be vital for us this season

Properly utilized, I think Lazar could do well next season.

Firmino will probably take to the PL like a duck to water.

Coutinho will add real consistency to his game and will talked about in the elite bracket of attacking midfielders by the end of the season.

Ilori to have a breakout season.

Lallana, in many ways the forgotten man of our midfield, to stay injury free and make a big contribution now he's properly acclimatised.

I'm just not sure that's something most players grow out of
Pretty happy with Arse taking it.

Eh? It's the norm for young players to be inconsistent and improve in that respect as they age. The difference between a 17 year old Messi and a 27 year old Messi is not technical ability or a even physicality, but the mental maturity to produce it week on week. The same applies to every footballer.

I'd heavily wager that we don't see an improvement as such from Phil (as in doing 'better' things) just that he will take what he has done in his best games and do it on a far more regular basis, the way Silva, Hazard and Sanchez do. The boy is arguably the most naturally gifted footballer in the league, and once he starts proving that week in week out, football is going on start sitting up and taking notice of this lad. He's a future ballon'dor winner, and a POTY award is not far away for him.

Other than that, I think Ibe will thrive with more game time and his pace will be a real asset seens Coutinho, Lallana and Firmino don't really provide that. Clyne will dominate his flank in most games and be one of those that we love whilst other fans wonder what the fuss is about.

Firmino for me will show moments of brilliance but may take a season to become consistent and Lallana will be unspectacular but actually contribute very well in terms of numbers.

Milner I think though will be our best signing. It will be like having a 27 year old Gerrard-light in the squad. He'll lead by example, do his job immaculately and take ownership of games. Think despite being a similar player he will have a big effect on Henderson who will flourish with a more mobile partner.

I think as long as we get a one in two forward with pace most importantly our whole squad will suprise everyone.

It's hard enough remembering my opinions without remembering my reasons for them.

I'd love to go with Markovic too, but the only reason I didn't was because I'm not sure how much he's going to play. Seems to be down the pecking order. Although, with the money we invested in him we've got a find a way to use him more, and use him in his preferred position where he can actually just go out and play.

I'm personally going to go against the grain here a little bit and plump for Sturridge. A very high risk/high reward pick. Many people have written him off because he can't over his injury problems, but if he somehow did overcome them then he could get back to the striker of a couple of seasons ago and the type that we all desire. So my bold prediction is that he'll play at least 75% of the games, be the surprise that no one is really expecting, and score close to 20 goals.

Too many 'ifs' about our team... We have the kind of squad that'll dominate the world on football manager games in 3 to 5 years but not many of our players are in their prime... Including the manager...

My money's on Origi, hoping he and Coutinho can forge an instant connection on the field. I'm pretty keen to see whether Pep Ljinders can work on Markovic's development as well.

Lovren set the bar sufficiently low with his performances last season to surprise a few people this season. He'd be my pick.

Markovic second.

I'm sure he'll be tougher mentally, more confident, etcetera, more experienced, especially as he ended up becoming our best player by the end of the year, and now plays more regularly for Brazil.

Even apart from the mental side, I think you learn contextual decision making and you master specific moves etc., iron out errors over time and thus do in fact grow out of them.

I don't know how people are putting coutinho and firmino to be surprise packages. They are 'expected' to do well....i would be surprised if they don't do well to be honest.

For me surprise package would be someone who is not expected to do that well like Ings getting 10-15 goals or Markovic justifying his transfer price or Lovren cementing his place. Now that would be a surprise!

Many are expecting Lallana to return to his Southampton form with a proper off season and avoiding injuries so it won't be a surprise.

Ditto with Milner - you'd be expecting him to do well as a seasoned pro who contributed to winning teams in the past,  no surprise either.

My take is going to be Ings.

Benteke. There. Said it. He'll show up and fucking mangle some defences and some genius on the kop will come up with a boss song that somehow manages to rhyme Cast's "Walk away" with Benteke and we'll be bouncing by Christmas.

When you've scored, all you've left to score, Christian Benteke, Benteke, Benteke.

Boom.

It will be Divock Origi. He will find PL easier than Ligue 1 and it fits he's game perfectly with he's speed and technique.

Any one will do!
It seems to me that we are heading for a re-run of last season's less than sparkling performance. We seem to be following a repeat path of haphazard opportunistic 'value shelf' signings supplemented with a couple of expensive players with alleged potential, combined with the loss of one or two established players. Rodgers does not seem to have a strategic plan of signing players to backfill weak areas of the team and constantly ignores our competitive failings in mid-field, which he seems to believe can be cured by focussing on speedy wingers and lightweight 'inside forwards'.
We are going to encounter all of last seasons problems associated with the integration of too many new team members, which will only be magnified by not having an established coaching team, who will also be developing their role as the season progresses.
I fear the worst, but expect the most positive influence from a new player to come from James Milner.

Like I predicted for the 2013/14 season on here, we will be getting goals all over the place. So many players from the squad will be popping them in, we will be bored with our dream team scoring. Bloody Hell, that Liverpool, is scoring all they do, the neutrals will be saying. Even Skittles will come back for some more. Not sure if Migs will get one, but plenty of others will. In terms of teamwork, there will be plenty of second season development from the last summers signings, and several of the new lads will prove excellent value.

Milner will have a belting season and become our most important player. Not sure that will be a huge surprise actually.

I think Moreno will be much better now that he is settled and has more legs ahead of him with Milner and Henderson and surprise a lot of people this year.

Origi, for me he has a special presence about him, the way he carries himself and he's obviously got brains from the way he's so well spoken in interviews.

He was keeping both Benteke and Lukaku out of the Belgian squad, his performances in training are making me think that he's the main reason we're delaying splurging £32.5million on our #1 transfer target Benteke.

I've got a feeling that Origi is the real deal, from a couple of games I watched but mainly his interviews there seems to be something about him.

Not you, but those talking of Benteke as our surprise package are being a bit previous. No leaning pic yet remember folks. Having said that, pairs of Belgians and Brazilians might be mouthwatering, if it happens.
