That was a bit light for Inside No 9, but nicely put together.

"I'm missing a plug for the bath"
"It's not electric, that would be dangerous"

Unexpected joke and the funnier for being so.
"The nicest thing about quotes is that they give us a nodding acquaintance with the originator which is often socially impressive."

~ Kenneth Williams, with whom I'm noddingly acquainted. Socially impressed?

I would like to read the script of that. I definitely missed some of the couplets.

How many Shakespearean plots did they manage to get in? The plot to kill a regent and usurp them,  twins separated, sleep potion, a love potion, the breaking of the love potion.

Oh that was superb, the 30mins flew by a joy from start to finish. They packed so much into it, loads of great lines I'll have to watch it again, I'm sure I missed some great stuff as it all went by so fast. The guys are so talanted nobody is doing what they do on TV. All the actors were amazing as usual. Bring on the rest.

That was brilliant. To write a whole show in iambic pentameter and to include a load of jokes and Shakespearean plot parodies, yet keep the interest going was a real tour de force... and when Reece Shearsmith started to do the Hokey Cokey!!

Really enjoyed it. Very clever and so glad that others enjoyed it as well. I'd have loved to hear the elevator pitch for this episode:

'So it's set in a hotel corridor, written in Iambic pentameter, references classic Shakespearean plots and has an 80-year-old giving a golden shower...'

Well that was a most enjoyable Farce that reminded me so much of an episode of Fawlty Towers.  Room changing guests, old women fainting and money changing hands rapidly (OK, FT never featured Watersports)

Must admit though, I'd never heard of Iambic pentameter before now but after reading a little on the term, S&P appeared to have executed it perfectly.  ALthough I do get the impression if they couldn't be perfect with anything they did, they just wouldn't do it.

Yep, really enjoyed that episode.

The Hare was in room 915, behind Mr Green (Bill Paterson). If anyone still looks out for that.

Ahhh I did start looking for the Hare but forgot as i got engrossed in the story and following the characters movements.

The more I think about last nights episode the more I feel I enjoyed it.

As others have said, probably needs a rewatch to take in bits that were missed.

Always a treat this show. Love it, and Pemberton and Shearsmith are two of the country's best writers and performers.

Any news on whether The League of Gentlemen will do anything new (outside of Royston Vasey I presume)? I know they've got the live shows later this year but it would be great to see them team up together for something new.

Reminded me of a great episode of Scrubs that one, not quite as good but it's harder to build empathy in 30 minutes than 30 episodes so not entirely fair.

I thought I was about halfway through the episode, turned out I was 2 minutes from the end and then the twist completely got me, and I was surprised to find I was quite sad.

Incomparable.

Same here. Brilliantly done. Almost up there with Twelve Days of Christine.

Reminded me of a great episode of Scrubs that one, not quite as good but it's harder to build empathy in 30 minutes than 30 episodes so not entirely fair.

That's true genius. The way they play with expectations and shift the emotions in 30 minutes is masterful. You think you know what you're watching but the rug is pulled but without it feeling like a cheap trick. It's not a 'twist' at the end - the whole thing just makes sense.

It was brilliant, Beckett level stuff, very reminiscent to me of Waiting for Godot, not so much in the storyline but the interaction between the two players and the questions about their back histories that it created.

Everything was in there, a beautiful balance of pathos and humour, and then the dark Armchair Theatre like turn at the end.

Just superb, intelligent and engrossing viewing.

This latest episode was superb - genuinely poignant and touching. Also bloody creepy.
