His attitude in the second half stunk to be honest. Everything he did was so half arsed. I’d give him a rest at the weekend, he looks like he could do with one and we have options now to be able to do that from time to time. I’d start Shaqiri

You're kidding he had a really good second half, put plenty of effort into the game, worked hard when we didn't have the ball. I must have seen a different player to you tonight.

It’s mad the narrative being spun from one sloppy pass and Klopp making subs to go for the winner.

He’s absolutely fine. Just a goal or two away from re-kindling last season. It’s such early days, good things come to those that wait.

Someones going to be on the end of a 4 goals vs Watford like Salah performance soon

Its like the culmination of all of those missed chances followed by his frustrated little hop, he's getting more and more annoyed at not scoring

For me he is going through the same period of readjustment that Mane had to deal with last season, but multiplied twofold because of the heights he's coming down from. Teams are double marking him and giving up space to T A-A  and to the CMs. So he's getting less of the ball and in worse positions and is overcompensating. He just needs to settle into the reality that this season he may well be a very good player in a world class team, whereas last season you could well argue that it was the other way round.

I don't think he'll ever hit the goal-scoring feats of last season again. As good a player he is he is not a Messi or Ronaldo. But that doesn't really worry me as I'm confident that the vast majority of goals that drop off his total will be picked up by other players.

Didn’t he get off to a slow start last season? I think we are playing too slow in the final third and not taking the opportunities like last season. You could see against spurs Klopp digging them out for not passing to each other. Confident he’s about to hit his stride soon to be honest

His first touch seems a bit off previously the ball would stick to his feet but atm he can’t make a 10 yard pass.

Might be time to give him a little rest and give Shaq a run.

Get to fuck. Give your head a wobble and go to bed.

Calm yourself, we won. If you’re that bothered about it go back and watch his reaction to the times he was giving the ball away, instead of chasing back and trying to make amends he just stood there with his hands on his hips. He clearly needs a break and hopefully a rest will do him the world of good and we’ll see the Salah we saw last season again. No harm having him on the bench on Saturday in case things do go tits up and we need him.

Anyone notice the strap on his shoulder when he was taking his underlayer tshirt off?

Wonder if his shoulder is still not right yet and it’s still affecting him?

Didn’t he get off to a slow start last season?

He was missing chances but he was also scoring consistently

In 5 league games he had 3 (Watford, Arsenal & Burnley). He had another 2 goals in the CL (but that of course includes the extra 2 games being the qualifiers against Hoffenheim) then the other 1 was the first group game vs Sevilla

The goals will come, once he gets one or two he's gonna explode back into action. The front 3 still look a little off but they will click sooner rather than later

Looks a lot like Kinesio tape, don't think its a concern, Bale and Dele Alli seem to wear it a lot and a number of other players use it

Think you're getting him mixed up with Neymar.

Nah Neymar was worse but that doesn’t mean Salah didn’t have a poor game. He needs a break and a bit of time out of the spotlight. He’s certainly allowed a few poor games but we need to help him by giving him that break rather than playing him constantly and hoping he plays himself back into form in my opinion.

:lmao

I recall times where he sprinted from his position at RW to stop counters heading down our left flank. Wasn't his best game, but he still worked hard for the team. Give him a break, his attitude was good.

I noticed that too, he covered the overlap on Trent many times with his tracking back. Didn't have his best game but his work rate was fine.

I think men are overreacting to a few games without a goal. If you look at understat his expected goals per 90 is still at an extraordinary high level, on par with last season. No need to panic the goals will come. For what it's worth, I thought he played well tonight until the two late loose passes.

Edit. This post may be sexist. Replace 'men' with 'people' in that first sentence.

A player of his calibre wouldn't be happy on the bench or rested.  If we were to give him a break, it would be better with a true holiday like Sterling had and then hope he come back feeling fresh again.

There is no way we could gloss over that he was way off his best tonight. Nothing just seem to come off at the moment. Even a goal get chalked off.

Salah was denied a goal that most likely would have been given in England. Aggressive and sharp upfront, but his passing was off, not only for the PGS goal. I'd like to see Shaqiri given a change this weekend.

He's worryingly off the pace, but he just has to stop trying to force things and go back to doing what he's just good at. It seems very much a confidence issue but I'm sure he'll be back sooner rather than later.

He needs all the support he can get currently. He's going through a very tough time off the pitch and I loved that the whole stadium was clapping when he was being taken off after he'd just made an error.

The Egyptian FA.

I think that could have a lot to do with his general demeanor overall, say nothing of the pressure he is under because of the person he is, its a lot to live up to. All the more reason for us to support him now, while he's going through a bit of a hard time. He is still playing his part though, only a matter of time before the goals start flowing once more.

He looked a bit off the pace to me, but lets be honest, we are measuring him against such incredibly high standards from his exploits last season. To me, he just seems a bit slower and not quite as sharp yet. I'm sure it will come, though. I just go on what my eyes see and how my gut feels. Others with more info on stats etc and a much keener eye may well disagree with me, of course.
