Johnson's been playing really well today. And at the risk of angering a fair few people out there, Konchesky has been woeful. Just crossed the ball into the box when there was no one in it.

Gerrard's blood has now reached his shirt, surely the ref has got to notice.

Konchesky flies in like the Flash and steals the ball from right under the Brum RB's nose. Charges down the flank and crosses to Torres who...miscontrols the ball and allows it to bounce away. Fuck.

Birmingham go up, but Liverpool get back the ball and a counterattack sweeps forward. Jova's through ball finds Torres, but his near post shot is palmed away.

Gerrard takes the corner and comes to nothing. Seriously, just fucking stop it. Fuck off corners for God's fucking sake.

Skrtel gets a talking to for some pushing. Martin looks capable of eating a baby.

Ball is headed away, Konchesky gets it back and tries to release Gerrard down the left but it's cut out.

Konch is doing great on the attacking side of things despite his defensive frailties, which is about the opposite I expected from him.

This here was a prime example of why I prefer Lucas over Poulsen. Maxi passes to Johnson and makes a dash towards the byline. Johnson looks back to see a player and make a run of his own, looks back and Poulsen is behind the centre line and Johnson has to pass through traffic to find a player.

Torres gets the ball near the corner flag and is crowded out. Throw. Liverpool win back the ball.

Gerrard lines up to shoot, but is blocked and thinks better of it. Tries to release Torres with a quick through ball but that's cleared. Maxi gets the ball in the middle and shoots but it goes well wide.

As happy as I am to see Raul Mereiles, he's replacing Lucas instead of Poulsen?

I don't care who gives me stick for it, that's a fucking abysmal decision.

I hope you're laughing with us. Not at us. But as others have said, I can't possibly see the logic in taking Lucas off instead of Poulsen. Poulsen was a yard behind Lucas all game and I can't see that improving with fatigue.

Support and adjustment aside that's just the wrong decision. End of
