On the dualsense, are they supposed to make such a rattle'y noise when being held down? Was shooting in Astro's Playground and worried I was going to wake up my housemates.

Just Astro triggering some haptic madness

No other games do it. I hope other games do it a bit less OTT

Thanks mate

Has anyone seen any good deals on the controllers (like with a game?)

Regretting not getting one when I saw them going with a new game for 70 or something, especially now I've learned I can't use my dualshocks for Madden with my housemate

Love that the Dualsense works on PC (without the haptic stuff) with DS4Windows

Now I've spent ages with it I think it's the best controller I've used. Definitely feels more premium. Plus my newest DS4 is betting stick drift and I am absolutely sick of that

Sony has given some very specific requirements which will narrow your selection down to a very small number.

DF compiled a list of some, think there's like 10 or so that are compatible.

They always do it at mad times.

I got mine from them at about 3am earlier this year.

Ordered a disc one from smyths today so hopefully I get it before I’ve to start work again on Monday. Surprised the demand is still so high. The semiconductor shortage gets mentioned but I think they’ve sold more ps5’s than PS4’s at the same point after release.

Just bought my PS5 from Amazon (thank God for Hot Stock).

In all honesty, I don’t want it yet. I’m thinking around September, it’ll be ridiculously hard to get one as parents rush to buy them for their kids. Reason I’m not keen is my TV is 7 years old and needs a serious upgrade. No point playing the PS5 on it, so was hoping to hold off for Black Friday.

Don’t know if I’ve got the self control to wait, though.

On the TV point, does it make that much of a difference?

I’ve got a 4K Panasonic which I bought in 2016 and the PS5 looks great on it but granted I’ve never seen or played it on anything newer?

Interesting internal redesign for the PS5 coming

300g reduction in weight coming from a newly designed heatsink. Mostly from a reduction in copper

A new fan design with extra fins for increased airflow.

A new WiFi module

A plastic coated screw for the stand for easier use

https://www.eurogamer.net/amp/digitalfoundry-2021-hands-on-with-the-new-playstation-5-cfi-1100-series-console

Will obviously make the consoles easier and cheaper to make just in the reduction of metal alone. Makes the profit margins better for Sony. The new fan should improve air flow inside. There haven't been any yellow light of death or red ring of death that plagued previous consoles so there could be an improvement in heat exhaust

Saw a video where the new one is running around 5c hotter than the original. Not sure if that will have a big impact over time but there you go.

From Austin Evans I'm guessing?

He measured the external temps of the vents though. I mean, yeah, it's hotter, but that could just mean the heatsink is doing it's job and drawing the heat away from the internals. Only way to know is to check performance long term I guess

Ghost of Tsushima is incredible. Loving it so far and I don’t think I’m half way through it yet. Happy I waited to get the 60 FPS, 3D audio and controller benefits on ps5 with the directors cut.

Yeah, good point. Could mean it’s running better but I have my doubts. I’m no expert but I assume the heatsink being smaller and with less copper which disperses heat more effectively would outweigh any improvements in the fan which despite any improvement over the other fans used is the same diameter.

Think I read there’s a bit of a copper shortage worldwide so that and the price of chips going up is why I think this is purely a financial change and not an improvement. Hopefully they can perform just as well and we don’t get a ps4pro noise problem or worse the 360 red ring of death. To this day that’s the only console I had die on me but I don’t put as many hours into these things as many others do.

For those unaware.

You have to buy the delixe edition or higher or Horizon Forbidden West to get dual entitlement (if you wanted to buy it on PS4 and upgrade when you get a PS5.)

Standard editions don’t have an upgrade path.

Might be the most stacked 40 mins of trailers we've had this year although with how disappointing E3 was thats not too hard!

I'm hoping for more on Final Fantasy 16 and expecting some teasers for God of War and Spider-Man 2.

This is going to be the big struggle sony has for the next year or so.

I remember years ago there being the same FIFA games for the PS1 and PS2 at the same time.

Its that overlap in development where developers can still make money selling PS4 versions of PS5 games.
