Abbey Road was brilliant for the final on Sunday, think I'll start going out on Sundays more often.

No, I was fully prepared. Those golf bags are ace, you can get loads of kit in them to cater for any occasion!

Ended up going to Dovedale Towers on Sunday. They told us all tables were booked up, but would be opening upstairs with additional tables at 4pm on a first-come-first-served basis. I got there at 2.30pm with the intention of being first up the stairs at 3.59pm, but alas they had already opened it and all tables were taken.

I mentioned to the manager what had happened and he told me he'd let me know if any cancellations happened. True to his word about 30 minutes later he got us a table for four right by a screen. Decent atmosphere for a student gaff too.

Missus used to work at a golf club in the offices. Every now and then they'd do an audit on the locker situation and there would be a few that for whatever reason they couldn't find out which member they belonged to. They placed warning notices on them to get the assigned members to come forward and then eventually cleared them out so that they could be re-assigned. Many of those lockers were full of Porn mags - dirty buggers!

As I keep porn in a golf bag. I don’t even play golf. It’s in my tennis bag.

I know of a lad who is just that, a bit of a 'lad' with the ladies. Anyway despite showing no interest previously in golf, decides to take it up so he can go on 'golf holidays' with his mates. His wife quite generously offers to buy him a set. Knowing that he is right handed and a complete bullshitter, she buys him a left handed set and says nothing. She then discreetly monitors his 'usage' and notices that the clubs haven't even been out of the bag.

Then the next time he comes back from one of his golf trips, she says to him 'I've had the receipt for those new golf clubs and noticed I've made a mistake as they are left-handed - how did you get on with them?'. Somehow he managed to bullshit his way out of it saying he borrowed a set or something but I don't think she was buying it. He's been on his best behaviour ever since.

Anyone aware of any pubs in around the ground/town that will show 3pm Saturday kick offs on a dodgy box?

We are looking for somewhere to watch Burnley v Man City after our match.

Hello there! I'm in Liverpool for the Benfica game tomorrow - it's absolutely awesome to be back after 2 long years 😊 I would like a proper warmup to the game and could use some advice from you guys - what are the best spots for some prematch beers and songs?

And what would be a good place to catch the games tonight?

The fine is ridiculous. Even local backstreet pubs we'd normally go to have all gibbed it.

The Landlord of our local said it was upward of £30,000 now

Anyone heading anywhere decent in town for the FA Cup final? Done the Echo and Grand Central in recent seasons but looks like neither will be open this time. Camp and Furnace used to make a big deal of finals didn’t they?

Prefer having a ticket for somewhere decent sized so you’re not hanging around all day trying to save your spec

Edit: Camp have got a Kardashians Quiz on that night  :o

I watched the 2019 Champions League final in the Hope & Anchor which was good. Decent sized beer garden too if the weather is nice, I don't know if they have a screen out there though.

It's not new, it's been there for a few years now at least. It's opposite Mann Island pretty much on the Strand.

It's not bad for football, watched a few games in there (more so before it changed to Jurgens and was called Tom Halls.

Yeah it had a bit of an LFC makeover when it changed from Tom Halls to Jurgens. Not sure if it's the same owners but know the ones who had Tom Halls still have the two places upstairs in the same building, so it's possible that's the case.

It was!  ;D I've not lived in town for about 8 years and last time I went in for anything other than a restaurant, just after 2nd lockdown, half the pubs hadn't even bothered opening for the midday kick offs.

Ended up binning off watching it really and went The Shipping Forecast, before moving on to the top end of Seel Street. Starting to feel a bit old compared to a lot of the groups out in town these days.

Where's good for the CL final?  I'm in 2 minds about a big ticketed event or a more intimate pub atmosphere
