Ch.av autocorrects to Chelsea.

Ah? Someone who speaks my language? Hadn't poked into this thread since posting that little sallie. Glad someone saw where I was coming from.

Aye, Oasis. Storming first album, if quite unoriginal and derivitive. Done nothing of any interest since IMO.

Done some fantastic stuff since then, Definatley Maybe, Morning Glory, The Masterplan, Dont Believe the truth....fair enough if they are not your cup of tea, but what they have produced and achieved you can't knock them for

I concur. The myth about Be Here Now is that it has always been consider shite, which is completely untrue if any one bothered to read the initial glowing reviews the album received. Aside, from the singles released off it, Morning Glory is and has always been shite. The Morning Glory era B- Sides are far better than the album tracks. Definitely Maybe is the best thing they have done. Standing On The Shoulder of Giants was -Fuckin' In The Bushes- aside pretty much dreadful.

Agree about Standing on the Shoulder, it was awful, bar a few good songs...Masterplan, Dont Believe the truth and Be here now are my favourites, basically because they have some of my favourite songs on them

Be Here Now is my favourite too  :D

agree about standing though Noel did have to do about 3/4 of that album on his own..plus i feel it was let down by both the production and choice of songs, was both amazing and dire in equal measures....cant believe Lets All Make Believe wasnt on there.

SOTSOG good: Fuckin in the Bushes, Go Let it Out, Who Feels Love, Gas Panic,   Roll It over (though i hate the choir in the b/g on this).

SOTSOG Bad: Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is, Sunday Morning Call & Where Did It All Go Wrong, both good songs but really let down by the production, (that fuckin choir again on SMC) if anyone hasnt heard the version Noel done of WDIAGW on Jools holland you need to hear how that song should have been done. Little James, and I Can See A Liar, which sometimes i really like, theres some great versions of ICSAL on youtube, which i'll go and have a look for now

On May 3, 2003, Noel Gallagher took to the stage and performed his historic gig at the Zanzibar club in Liverpool. Prior to the gig, he had taken the opportunity in several radio interviews to promote the greatness of the newly written song “Stop the Clocks.” In the middle of his set list that night, in between performing “Talk Tonight” and “Wonderwall”, and then “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Married With Children”, Noel performed the song he had spoken so much about, and a legend was born. Over the years, an audio recording of the Zanzibar concert never surfaced. Some fans even began to doubt that the concert ever took place, or that the song had been performed that night.

so..who wants to hear it??..without stop the clocks that is...

a fella on an Oasis forum i go on has OBSESSED over this gig and Stop The Clocks since the rumours of it being played began, over the years he has sought out people who were at the gig to hear first hand accounts, even travelled to Liverpool (i think hes lives in america  :rollseyes ) to talk to the owner of the Zanzibar and people who were at the gig to see if a taping surfaced..at the start of the month there his obsession paid off.

He got in contact with the person who has the only copy and paid (a quite hefty amount im led to believe) for the recordings..on one condition, he wouldnt give out the stop the clocks untill a studio version was either released or leaked, he gave his word and is adamant hell stick to it.

 :no

btw, this gig is really worth downloading incase youre thinkin 'ive heard enough of noel solo versions of these to do me' ...but theyre very unique similar to the recent noel & gem solo tour but i think they're better. the volume is quite low on it aswell so ya may need to turn it up more.

well anyway heres the gig

1. Talk Tonight
2. Wonderwall
3. Don't Look Back In Anger
4. Married With Children

They've announced 4 dates in August in America and Canada so hopefully we'll get some news of a tour in the UK sometime soon. I've heard a few rumours of a residency at the O2 in the winter sometime.

Great band - seen them live about 4 times - first time was way back in (i think) 94 at Edwards #8 in brum - only about a 300 capacity venue.  Think it was just before Shakermaker came out.

Quick update on forthcoming album:

Paul And Phil Spin Some Tunes In Belgium

Information received from Dennis (Pictured with Paul) today from Phil (Official Oasis Tour DJ) and Paul Gallagher's DJ set in Belgium on the weekend.

Dennis asked them both separately some questions about the Oasis album, he said they were both hammered and said the same thing.

11-12 songs (Noel is yet undecided)
No album title yet
A lot more RNR then the last 2 albums, songs are longer as well, and more guitar orientated.
Phil has heard 4 songs, Paul has heard 7 or so.
They said the Album is out, second week of August.

If its true I don't know, they both said same thing so it must have been rehearsed or something.

How the fuck can anyone get rapidshare to work without paying?

Does anyone have these on any other filesharing site?

Either way, just heard the live version of Stop The Clocks, and after four listens it looks like it could be a classic, can't wait to hear the studio version.

Record Machine is quality, sheer quality. They Aint Got Nothing On Me is erm, not wonderful really, it's okay, very similar to Meaning of the Soul and not as good. Stop The Clocks gets better with every single listen. The way Noel sings the line "But if I'm already dead how would I know" is absolutely brilliant. Best song I've heard from them in years.

Got a decent version of Liam singing Lord Don't Slow Me Down aswell, very different feel from the Noel one, even though the music is identical.

where did you get that? I did used to be well up on oasis bootlegs etc.. but I lost a hard drive + loads of boots & bookmarks with it. I've been trying to get hold of Rock'n'roll star at Leeds festival in (i think) 99, possibly 2000. Possibly the best version I ever heard, they stopped half way through because the crowd weren't going mad enough, then started again.
