What exactly are you expecting him to do by himself as Jones goes sprinting ahead. He need to give him a hand, it's his first game back.

Have the strength and speed to receive the ball and pop it off to a team mate.

Licky not to be behind, but still in this. Probably need a bit more in midfield as we need the numbers. Grav is probably the only option we have so maybe it'll be a subtle tweak first.
Some clubs were always destined for greatness...

Yeah, although Gakpo has never played there before for us, he has played in midfield (badly admittedly).
Could have done with Grujic and even Chirivella to tide us over this season

He did create our best chance because TAA shot was the closest we came to a goal, he ran 30 yards after a smart turn and put it into a good position for Trent to score.
LOL yeah playing a sideways pass 20 yards out is creating a good chance.

I get that he is rusty, but let us not act like that was the first time he has been caught on the ball the exact same way. To be fair to him, the backline is not much of a help at the moment when he is under pressure.
