what always gets missed when this is mentioned is that the whistle had already gone, and the ball was dead so he was just showing off. It wasn't in 'live' play.

And it was Jamie Redknapp who had the shot.

Thought I'd share a few Arsenal classics if you don't mind..

Highbury's first ever game under floodlights in 1951 against Tel Aviv.

The dominant pre-war Arsenal side that won 5 titles in the 1930s under Herbert Chapman, who basically invented the modern Arsenal, as well as introducing many facets to the game itself such as white footballs, numbers on shirts. He's our Shankly. You can read about him here if interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Chapman#Legacy

Club legend (and many an old sod's favourite ever player), and current head of youth development, Liam Brady. He's already on this thread but he's wearing the wrong kit ;)

Yeah, sorry boys...

Yeah sorry again...

This is from the 1979 Cup final, known to us as the 'Five Minute Final' against Man Utd. We were leading 2-0 with five minutes to go. Utd managed to level it, and then we nicked it 3-2 all in the last few minutes. You may also be able to tell by now why Arsenal fans love the yellow-blue kit combo ;)

Yeah! It was my background for a year or two. It's the only Arsenal picture I'd consider hanging in my house. You can see a bigger version of it on the official Arsenal photographer Stuart Macfarlane's flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27453474@N02/7139677787/sizes/k/in/photostream/

Hampdon, Celtic Park and Ibrox regularly went over the 100k mark well into the 50's, not much health and safety in those days. At the time of Hampdon's opening the three stadiums with the largest capacity in the world were in Glasgow.

Flag was raised for offside, but the whistle hadn't gone, play went on !

Every power draws its ultimate consequences at every moment. Supposing that this also is only interpretation-and you will be eager enough to make this objection?-well, so much the better. (Nietzsche; Beyond Good & Evil, p. 30-31).
