Its potentially game over then for the manager.

Nah, if he was gonna be sacked this early it'd have been in the summer. He was allowed to sell out his mates and bring in new staff, and spend a boat load of money. That joyce article said FSG 'were expecting a poor start but have faith' etc, if it's still fucked by November/December time he'll be off.

Can't see it getting any better, like. Anfield is ghostly quiet, fans completely lost since Stoke. Loss against anyone now, there'll be boos, and lots of them.

Imagine if we lose to Carlisle?  ;D
Pretty happy with Arse taking it.

Disappointing.

Our owners are too thick to realize it.

They will wait until we're completely out of the top four picture in November when there is nothing left at all to play for, then do a change.

I applaud the people thinking we're gonna go on a five game unbeaten run. You must be forever optimistic or masochists. Either way, I genuinely applaud you. I don't know how you do it.

Norwich (h):1
Villa (h):0
Everton (a) 3
Spurs (a) 0
S'ton (h): 3

Norwich at home will probably be painful with very little class showing and a lot of nerves. They are well organised and I can see them scoring on the break. Hopefully someone will show up with some magic again to save us.

Villa is a bit of a bogey team recently and I can see them beating us 1-0. Think we will play alright but not be able to create much.

Everton away we go in as massive underdogs but I can see us putting in a good solid performance and winning by the odd goal.

Spurs is usually difficult for us (before the last couple of seasons at least)and I'm never confident of getting the win there. I can see Kane scoring again by then and everyone being well and truly on that bandwagon.

Southampton: they don't look as solid at the back or as strong going forward this season and I can't see them being better than mid table. Easiest 3 points out the 5.

Really hope we get 2 wins in the first couple of games as that'll mean the pressure is off a bit for the more difficult games and hopefully we will come out and play with a bit of confidence. Can't see it at the moment though.

I doubt it will be that bad a return.

Realistically i think we will get 8. That may not be enough though as I think we need 10 points to really make progress.

Genuinely can't see where we're picking up 3 points at the moment, such a lack of cohesion and ideas on the pitch and in the dugout. Are we yet to hit rock bottom?

Really ?

Norwich just demolished a team we had no right to beat.
Villa, well we know what usually happens at Anfield.
Everton will beat us.
Spurs/Soton both have enough about them to beat us.

I don't think we'll lose/draw them all, I reckon we'll find a win somewhere, but I couldn't predict when/where it will happen.

Not after the 0-3 to WHU, for me, anything could happen.

I'd be more surprised if we got 10 points than if we got 5.
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

That maybe the case but we have taken 7 points so far and these games are a bit easier.

Point was that if we get 6 points or less then its untenable for Rodgers.

But our form appears to be in decline ?

There will be some players that will jib it completely if they get a sniff of a new manager, it always happens.
I'm not saying I know who, or how many, but there will be some that don't get on with him and won't be killing themselves.

Maybe not. But we will have to see I guess.

Really though I am not looking past the games against Villa and Norwich at the moment. We have to win those and take maximum points.

I can see 2-4 points. But then again I'd not be shocked to see 0.

Slightly off topic, anything less than 4 pts from the next two home league games and it's curtains for BR.

The cup games may or may not matter. Imo they're irrelevant but if we lost either of them the pressure would really pile on.

I hope Rodgers survives. We are without Hendo Coutinho and Sturridge currently. Add Sterling and Gerrard to that and that's the core of our team from last season.

Also, we don't know if Sturridge will be available this week or not.

Under the scenario that Rodgers is sacked, what would the fate of O Driscoll be? Does anyone think that their recent arrival provides an incentive for FSG to hold on longer to Brendan?

Or would FSG bite the bullet and humiliate themselves further by sacking him after only a few months (let's say Christmas for example)?

Under the likelihood that any potential new manager would bring his own backroom staff in, it really highlights what a farce this summer could prove to be.

He would probably be interim manager until a new manager is brought in and then back to asst manager or potentially let go with Brendan.

I think we should worry about Mbokani first, he'll be a right handful for the couple of jokers we're likely to play at centre half.
