Gotta say, there's a few ropey looking picks in here, chaps. Don't forget, you're replacing your 9 player for player and want to aim for replacements with similar skillsets, workrate, playstyle, etc.

I’m not really sure how my midfield 3 set up and played. Can I check with you and Betty?

On this Tubs, are we also considering position of player in the period concerned as some will have tended to move about over time, or is it purely about comparing a player more generically?...If that makes sense?

Yeah you're looking to replicate the 11 and formation I've given you. You get given Ashley Young as a left wing back, you're looking to replace him with someone right footed, ideally a former winger who can play left wing back and has similar attributes. You can't move Young to a different position in your team and then replace him with a right-winger, for example.

Is that what you meant?

Yes, so if, for example, you have a formation where a player may have played on the right side of a 3 for the season concerned but played left the season after or before, whatever, no change of attributes just positional, do you need to find a player to replicate that flexibility?

I’ve got a fairly big standard back four and functional midfield three to pick. If we’re going properly like for like will the strongest existing teams on paper not be the favourites still (I say this as someone incapable of clever enough picks to fill the gaps).
