I know hardly anyone here will adhere to it but no manager should be judged in their first year.

First year he needs time to instill his culture, habits. He needs time to learn properly about the players, how they behave in different situations during the season, which players meet his requirements , which don't etc.

For me the second year - if you're a good manager - there has to be progression compared to your first season, if there's not it's a huge red flag imo. You had a whole year to build your foundations, figure out which areas you can improve with new players - there has to be clear improvement.

Obviously there's a minimum for the first year - we can't be bottom half and stuff like that - anything other than that for me it's about whether we'll see some hints and signs that indicate Arne can build on top of his first year and properly compete in his second year.

Good thing is that even if it's a transitional season considering how good our squad is we can easily achieve great things even this kind of circumstances.

Agree. Arne is going to need some time. Even Klopp in his first year finished 8th, albeit he only joined in October and got us to two cup finals.

The only manager that we wanted out very quickly was Roy, and that's because he was never the right fit.

Taylor has the same look on his face that Hooper had when they fucked up the Diaz goal at Spurs. Sheer panic and a realisation that they'd have to cover their backs.

Jedi Fallen Order.

I'm in the final chapter but I can't say I've particularly enjoyed it. The story is great, the visuals are brilliant. But the gameplay is uninteresting and the combat (in my opinion) is enormously frustrating. I played for the most part on Jedi Master which was the second hardest difficulty level and just found getting through levels a slog, especially if you have to repeat the same bits over and over. I'm conscious that with practice I could get better but I just have no interest in doing so ;D Got fed up repeating a boss fight endlessly so dropped the difficulty level in the end just to see it through to the end without it taking up much mor time :lmao

Suppose fundamentally I didn't find it much fun, which when it's based on lightsaber combat and force tricks is a real shame.

well, that's why there are difficulty levels.....

I've been replaying FF10 for the first time since it released 23 years ago, still a great game. My memory of it is hazy but I don't think I ever finished it (though I completed X-2 funnily enough). The remastered version looks great too.

As always with old Final Fantasy games I'm torn between following a guide to make sure I don't miss anything major and wanting to just play and enjoy the game!

I played that a few years ago and ended up making a lot of it very trivial by using the monster arena tonberry 'exploit'

then I came across a dark aeon and got absolutely rinsed.

I havent seen any realistically attainable 9s that would be better than Nunez.
The fact that people seriously mention Gyökeres speaks volumes for the market and how underrated Nunez has become.

I think the centreback partnership is helped a lot by the structure ahead of it and the fact that White helps out and you have Rice in front, plus midfielders who work their arses off. I think individually they can be rattled, but the system is so risk averse that it stops them being exposed.

But yeah the goalkeeper is ok at best. But you do have some fantastic footballers and the coaching is top class.

Yeh thats a good assessment

If we managed to get a decent offer for him, we'd be mad not to consider it.

I just don't see it being a case of third season lucky with him. We need a CF we can rely on, particularly now Mo's goals have dried up and he looks to be off.

Thing is we're unlikely to get a decent offer for him. Pretty certain we're already in for £75m as some of the instalments have been hit

Not many leagues or teams would consider that type of fee for him

Palace was both at the time and in hindsight the final nail in our league season. I think you can also look at the FA Cup exit, in hindsight, as some sort of turning point in our form. Its weird because I for one wasn't as bothered at the time but it looks like it did get to the players in some way.

Another thing that is becoming apparent is that City/Arsenal aren't dropping anywhere near the amount of points people were predicting in this thread with 8-9 games left.

Arsenal just came through their worst week of the season unscathed and with Bournemouth, United and Everton left look very likely to win their last 3.

City are doing the thing that we have not been able to do it feels a single time all season - score early, control a game, and get a second goal early enough to then relax for the final quarter of a game. It feels like win or lose we had to go helter-skelter every single match of the season.

I don't really understand how one cup game can influence the rest of your season unless your players have really poor mentalities but ours proved they don't by coming back from a goal down so many times or by winning tough games near the end of the game.

For me, there's more to it than just losing that game. We've exited cups before and still looked good in the remaining league games.

I agree that anyone saying City will lose games in their run in is mainly optimism. They just don't lose game when they are in position to win the title and they couldn't have hand picked their run in any better than they've got it.

I knew Arsenal would slip up and they did to Villa (thought it might be the Spurs game).

Both teams will win out from here.

If we had won all ours we'd have finished 2nd still IMO. I just don't think winning our games affects City. They are a machine and only have their slips early on in seasons mainly where they have more than enough time to come back.

They are starting to sense it happening to them

This will hurt them a lot more than the last title chase. I hope city win it
