11-8, Ronnie needs the next frame.

Looks like he's flowing well in this frame.

48-0 currently.

Getting a maximum should get more than just 5k, considering you get 10k for the highest break. :o

I remember the prize for getting maximum break being 147k, it's barmy it's only an extra 5k on top of 10k for highest break, which you get a share if anyone else matches it.

146 is even rarer that's only the 3rd 146 break at the Crucible.

There's been 131 147's in competition since 1982 and nearly 100 of them have come since 2000.

Companies would have had to insure against Maximums given the large sums involved and given the frequency of their occurence after the millenium, it probably became entirely cost inefficient to legislate for/against them.
what probably put people off was the year both Carter and O sullivan got one at the crucible

What a clearance from Ronnie under immense pressure.

Have to say that was so unlucky for Ding for that red to run onto the cushion when he only needed that and the black to win.

Ding will be feeling sick after that, almost a perfect split on the Reds but one extra roll & it goes on the cushion rather than over the pocket which made the pot difficult & he missed it & Ronnie clears up.

You aren't watching? If not, basically, Ding was on a break and needed just one more red and black to win the frame. He needed to cannon into the pack to bring some reds into play and nothing ran on easily for him. He missed the red, Ronnie came in and cleared up.

Make it count Ding
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
