Weathered the initial onslaught somehow, got that vital away goal, easy peasy.

Could do with Sturridge or Shaq getting a full half, wrap Mo in cotton wool before that shithouse Pepe tries to leave his mark.

Some minutes for Joe could be crucial in the run in too.

Not that it matters much but we've been pretty fucking bad so far. 61% of passes completed, which feels generous. If they were any good they'd have scored a couple.

The only reason I say this is not to do a half-time moan but because I think we've seen this before in Europe this season and it's ugly to watch. Looks like today it won't matter a jot and all that matters tonight is we get through. The goal was lovely.

At full speed Mane looked quite a bit offside, but then the longer it went on I started to think he will give this. I'm sure the ref said goal to Salah about 30 seconds before he signalled it.

They were always going to go at us, so to go in 1-0 up at HT is excellent.

Almost feel for Porto there - had all the game and go in one down. Becker is very solid in goal thankfully.

It's the worst I have seen us play in a while..
But it's the best possible result we have had while playing so badly..

I think out best spell was in first half injury time when we actually strung 10 passes together without losing the ball..

Think Gini touched the ball for the first time in injury time..

So what's been happening at the Emptihad then??

We're getting away with one here, that was awful. Pretty sure as a kid you're advised if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all? This tie certainly isn't over unless we vastly improve for the last 45 minutes. Out shot 15-3, wow.

It would be nice of Robertson occasionally focussed on his defensive work. Worrying defensively at times diving in or bombing forward when game management suggests otherwise. Wonderful player but needs to improve that side of his game.

Frustrating performance. Poor distribution and possession. Every header away seems to be finding them. Goal should definitely see us through.

Never seen a team dive so much, thought they were bad at Anfield but tonight is even worse, maybe its a hangover from the Mourinho days and its now in their DNA.

They are closing us down immediately all over the pitch causing bad passes from us,don't think they'll be able to carry on doing that the whole match.
Very few controlled attacks from us in the game so far but thankfully Sadio still manage to score!

Impressive scoreline considering we've played with 7 men. No idea what Trent, Robbo, Milner and Gini were doing for most of the first half. Van Dijk and Matip have had to defend on their own, Fabinho had to play in midfield by himself practically.

I understand Porto came at us but cant believe how so many players just went missing for about half an hour.

I would like to put it record that VAR is class. Although Porto seem to have had the majority of the play thank goodness they have been toothless. That is what having a world class keeper is all about. I do wish we would just kick the ball long at times. Good stuff from the mighty reds and just keep it tight and kill the game off.

Not a great half, but somehow we are one goal up. We give the ball away too much. Would like to see us pass it around more. Now we kick it away and we haven't managed to include our front three. Still 45 to go and I would like to see us play with more confidence. The result is good, but we can perform better.

Porto were fine but I wasn’t absolutely screaming at the TV. Decent chances but nothing absolutely clear cut from them.

I got a feeling they were Brendan Rodgering it in that initial phase - remember how we’d go hell for leather in those opening minutes in so many games under Brendan and expend energy and concede late goals. Hopefully the same will happen here with a couple more for our lads.

But keeping it fine and ticking it over casually will be fine for me.
