Disgraceful from Spurs it really is. When it comes to the football side of it too, the tea lady has won as many medals as Harry Kane so its not even as if they are any good. Here was me thinking in a national crisis, the England captain would make sure the people who job cuts really affect around him will be looked after first.
England captain my arse. Wanted the leagues scrapped so Spurs could avoid humiliation.

And at the same time, didn’t stand up to the club when they are furloughing staff to get income support from government when the club is more than capable of doing so if they had handled it properly.

They used to be my second club. Now I hate them. Conniving, scheming, distasteful and indifferent to the suffering of others.

Kane is a arsehole, only interested in Harry Kane.

On the flipside, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was Henderson that donated the 25k to Alder Hey. The two are night and day,  I haven't got much time for the national team,  but Southgate's biggest mistake is picking that mouth breather over Hendo.

A captain represents the team,  Spurs and ourselves couldn't of picked better.

Spurs are getting a lot of bad press because of this.

I wonder when they will relent? Or maybe Levy doesn't give a fuck..

Each to their own but each player could quite easily forego 5k of their own weekly salary to supplement those who have been furloughed. However, the amount Tottenham earn, they could quite easily pay the support staff for a full year without it affecting anything. Doubt it would even reach beyond a few million or so

Gary Lineker donates two months salary to British Red Cross to help coronavirus effort

Quote
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker will donate two months' worth of his £1.75million salary to the British Red Cross amid the coronavirus.

The England striker-turned-TV-host pledged the cash – almost £300,000 – as MPs urged top-flight clubs to slash the pay of top-earning stars who trouser millions of pounds a year.

Mr Knight (MP) said: “We are facing an obscene situation where top players who aren’t working are continuing to see hundreds of thousands of pounds roll in each week while the staff who keep the clubs going are losing wages.

“If the Premier League isn’t going to act to resolve this crisis then the Government must step in by imposing a significant financial penalty on clubs to reimburse those hit hardest in the pocket.

That’s why I have written to Chancellor Rishi Sunak today demanding that Premier League clubs do the right thing by Tuesday next week or face the consequences.”

Pretty fucking disgusting.

Levy could take a 100% paycut and not feel the pinch, and the players could even take a modest cut and it would cover the rest of the staff's wages during this time.

Reported £4m wage even with a 100% wage cut would still leave Levy with his £3m bonus.

Spurs fans are rightly fuming..dunno how much Lewis actually owns there but he is worth over £4bn too.

Tax bailout for Spurs.  :wanker

Lewis' company owns the majority of Spurs, wikipedia says 85%, Levy owns less than a third of Lewis' company.

Amazing how many Torys have suddenly found their socialist roots in this crisis. Or maybe it's just unbelievably crass opportunism.

That said the PFA have managed to top everyone and come out with the biggest load of shit ever. Even Thatcher would have been ashamed to release the statement they issued on Saturday. I hope some of our players publicly leave the PFA.

He really doesn't like Ndombele does he? ;D

Quote
Footage emerged on social media of Mourinho, wearing his trademark purple Spurs training top and tracksuit bottoms, overseeing a makeshift session with Tanguy Ndombele.

In a video clip Davinson Sánchez and Ryan Sessegnon can be seen jogging side-by-side – flouting the two-metre distancing requirement – something which has unsurprisingly aggravated the hierarchy at Spurs. Mourinho is understood to be adamant distancing was respected during his session on the common.

I wonder if they brought an Amazon crew along to the training session?  It occurred last night that the whole thing might have been done just to get a coronavirus scene into the documentary.  Seems a bit too cynical even for him, but I can’t think of any likelier reason for it.

I see they are pretty much telling Kane to run his contract down then.

Given the length of that contract he signed, running it down wouldn't really do him much good as he'd be 30 by then and with the tendency to rush himself back from injuries seems unlikely to be the kind of player who will be able to maintain his form well into his 30's like some others can.

This article is basically just the club doing their bit to shift the storyline away from him and them both being fine with him moving since that weakens their stance towards any potential transfer.

It was a strange appointment at the time, especially with him nicking goals of his teammates but it's been even clearer since then that Henderson is a the kind of player and person that would be a perfect captain for England, as he is for us. Their loss.

and it's an appointment that looks dafter by the day.  Southgate for all the (rather over the top) hype and kudos he got during and since the Euros, showed himself to be really weak with that appoitment. Which is a big question mark on his management style.  To give a captaincy purely to pander to a players overblown ego is a really bad look.

Signing Kane for £200m is the kind of thing that has got Man Utd in the current mess they are in.

Are Spurs in trouble financially? Pandemic or not they will still have stadium repayments to make surely? And with no money coming in.

I think Hendo's grown into captaincy role with us over the last couple of seasons. I think most people on here didn't think he was up to it for a few years after Gerrard moved on.
