Did everyone's nan have a massive bag with just about everything known to man, Tardis-like, inside?

My favourite nan memory was during one of the 70s heatwaves - on a day out in Rhyl - With a big coat on, headscarf, and in my minds-eye a scarf and gloves - although that can't be true - ha ha. And we spent an inordinate amount of time in Woolworths and not letting us go to the arcade

I used to go out with (then live with) this lovely woman in my early 20s whose parents I also fell in love with. One of my favourite stories at family dinners was her dad coming home from the pub and looking for the toilet in the dark. He frequently pissed in a couple of the wardrobes, but the best one was going in to Nan's room and waking her up with a powerful stream in the face. She was trying her best to shout at him "stop it son, I'm yer mam, this isn't the lav", but it was difficult with a hosing in the face and your teeth out.
