CP off, Jonjo on. Shift lucas back to DM would be my HT change.
Then Jovanavic off first sub for Maxi.

I'd like to swap Johnson and Kelly so Johnson can get forwards and Kelly sits and is defensively solid
me too, was thinking that after 20 mins to be honest. or both on the right, GJ in front

Solid half, they just got a lucky goal. Agger tackled him but it ended up bouncing to him and he was clean through.

Yeah it was all a bit Michael Thomas.

It's such a shame we have no quality out wide, I think Babel would've got on pretty well tonight. Started well, great goal then about 3 individual mistakes cost us a goal and we lost the heads for 10+ mins. Started to get a grip on the game towards end of the half but in the final third we've really left ourselves down, no final product. Id get Maxi on pretty soon. Still though we've looked decent enough, can see us scoring a few if things go to plan.

We need someone in the centre putting their foot on it and giving the side some direction. Not lacking effort just sloppy.

Poor crossing but good high-tempo passing with full-backs providing width. If we could put some decent balls in we'd be quite effective. Agree with swapping Kelly and Glen, would be an astute move imo.

Kuyt or Jova for Maxi please.

This game is perfect for Maxi - space everywhere.

Good game no evidence of either defence and there's bound to be more goals.
Nice to see us away from home and setting out to win the game!

not bad so far, nary a hoof to be seen, but sadly a couple of players are severely disrupting the slickness.  it's a step in the right direction, as long as we don't lose.

poulsen has been impressive.  are my eyes deceiving me?

Look, we have a new manager with a different style of football, the players need a little time to adapt, so give them all a realistic chance, more than 45 minutes.

Started well, cracking finish and the lads playing with confidence. Sloppy goal to give away then it's Blackpool back at us. Could do with keeping hold of the ball for a bit, make them chase the game.

Step it up lads.

I just really think this starting line up lacks finishing prowess. Apart from Torres there are no natural goal scorers (Kuyt hasn't been clinical since he came from Holland) up there and you can't rely solely on one man to score. I am worried.

Getting into some great positions, but the final ball is absolutely shite. Jova, Johnson and Kuyt have al had chances to get a good cross in, but all fucked it up. Add to that Lucas and Meireles are pretty poor in the final third also, hence the reason why we are struggling at the moment.

Torres looks up for it which is a major bonus, and his goal was great. I expect more goals, and the game could go either way. Both teams look pretty shocking defensively.

I know it is rather obvious but the difference between a barca player and a liverpool player when they get in that pocket of space between the midfield and defence is just startling. Unless it is Gerrard you pretty much always know one of our attackers is going to waste possession with some sort of shocking attempt at a final ball to Torres.

Final ball needs to improve, need a little bit of creativity in the final third. Maybe Maxi will come on or Ngog with a bit more pace. Kept the ball really well in parts though I think. Kuyt's been poor, Meireles off the pace. Poulsen has been okay, no more or no worse than that, anyone saying ' He's been fucking shite ' is not watching the same game.

Kuyt and Jova have been woeful, neither could hit a cows arse with a banjo.

And I'd just like to say, if Roy had set this team up in terms of personnel and positions, there'd have been a pitch invasion, and RAWK would be in meltdown.
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

Agreed. Poulsen's provided some good tackles but at the same time his passing has been a bit off. Better than I've seen him before though.

Great start! But the goal we gave away showed lack of strength in the tackle from Agger. Could've been 2/3 down if we didn't quickly correct our errors. Had a good spell near the end of the half.
IMO they're there for the taking! Have to be quicker and sharper with passes. More bite in midfield in the tackles. Though I'm worried that this virgin ref might give a red for a good challenge.
I'd rather Kuyt come off or change position. His lack of pace is frustrating!

Crossing and tackling better in the 2nd.
As for Lucas! Keep going lad!

Big change in mentality, which is refreshing - Ball on the floor! Unfortunately, we have two many average players - Jovanovic and Kuyt on the flanks offer nothing, and I'm sure will be sent on their way come the summer. Until, we have to cope.

Agger should have gone through him. Not dangle a leg.

His weight was over the other side of his body so he couldn't get any strength behind the tackle but he played the ball. Raul left us horribly open due to a blind pass.

Started off well and good to see us pressing and attempting to pass the ball on the floor. Energy has been good also.

However, the lack of quality in our attackers is clearly showing in and around the box and once again, our wingers are letting us down. They haven't been a threat at all.

Got to say at least we're playing some good football for a change, small errors aside it has been far better to watch. Jova is running out of gas and needs to be subbed, ideally for Maxi, likewise I think we need to get Shelvey involved in some sort of creative role. I'd shift Meireles deeper, take off CP and pop Jonjo in the space behind Torres. Much better all round though.

His third one will just be a tap in.
