Set pieces have arguably been our weakest area, offensively and defensively, ever since Sami stopped being a first team regular.
It's clear that Comolli has been focusing his priorities on obtaining players who will give us the highest probability of scoring from set pieces. With the additions so far, we are already a major force in offensive set-piece situations - Carroll being arguably the biggest aerial threat in the league, while Adam, Henderson, and Suarez are all excellent and experienced set-piece takers.
In recent years, when winning a corner at Anfield, we'd all roar in support for the players to score, but deep down we knew there was only a small chance that one of our players would get to the ball first, never mind score. Now we can get excited as one of our players steps up to take a corner, and there will be more than one reason for it.
