We really can't have any player coming back to fitness or returning from international duty without another being injured, can we?

Good to see Oliver emphatically waving away any possibility of Bradley being pushed as a foul, seconds after giving Maupay a foul for being pushed.

It's remarkable how Brentford as a team seem to get so physically bullied as to get so many fouls (and set pieces, but that's surely just a fortunate side effect), despite having so little of the ball. Frank should surely speak out about it to protect his poor lads. The only consolation was that it was a similarly soft foul to led to the free kick that we countered and scored from.

In the lead. Unfortunate with the injuries to Jones and Jota. Hope they're OK. We need them available. Great finish by Nunez for the goal. We need to stay alert in the second half and we need a second goal.

what a dirty team Brentford are..
Ref is allowing it
Brilliant from Nunez. Doesn't always have to be 'wham bam thank you mam' all the time. Beautiful delicate chip. Two goals a game please.

hope Jota is ok.

They seem to be finding some space on their left between Bradley and Konate, and Mac is probably lucky to not have picked up a yellow for those 3 fouls defending that space

Great goal, shame about the injuries. I’ll take 1-0 now if it means everyone else comes off uninjured

Tell that to Thiago, Alisson, Trent and others who are also out injured.

Great goal and intelligent play from Jota.

Salah unlucky not to make it 2, great run from Diaze, but fizzed it across a bit too firm.

We need another, because Oliver is going to keep giving them pathetic free kicks every time they dive.

Have to agree with the comments about Brentford, they're getting our players in bear hugs every corner and fouling with impunity, and pretty much nothing's being done. Lovely goal, but it's a real shame about Jones and Jota - Jota in particular has looked absolutely world class since he's come back.

Fuck it all.

These 12:30s are always weekend ruiners.

It's got nothing to do with a 12.30 kick off. Everything to do with other clubs being overly aggressive against us and the referees refusing to do anything about it.

More of the same.  Some really brilliant play on our part often broken up by one of our guys getting assaulted and Oliver sees nothing.  Breathe on a Brentford shoulder and it's a free kick no matter what.  The run Jota made at about 25 minutes where he threw off and fought off about four of their guys and he just kept fighting and progressing the ball forward.  Any other team, the player dives at the first contact and they get an advantageous free kick.  It's so blatant now it's gone beyond surprising.

Going to be a struggle to get three points I fear because you just know they're going to get one of their dives in the box given...

A so called experienced referee can't see there players going down for the slightest contact. The best was Jota wrestled to the floor at the corner 50/50 the next corner Jota gets in front of the defender foul, unbelievable.
Gutted for the injuries can't make it up.
And what a goal the build up and the finish World Class, Nunez Nunez.
I've been here during the bad times,we finished second once.

What the fuck do todays injuries have to do with training or the physios? One rolled his ankle and the other had a 90kg human land on him.

It’s not the training or the physio - some players are robust .. jota and jones aren’t

Jota looks like a bad one, will be huge blow if he’s done this season

Incredibly reminiscent of trips to Turf Moore against Dyche’s Burnley, we usually lost a player or two to their shithouse tactics there as well.

Absolutely fucking unbelievable, Regulion summed it up moaning about getting booked for another shithouse challenge moments after Jota’s season was over as it was his ‘first one’.

Just fuck off.

Go back one further, absolutely classic Bolton performance under Fat Sam.

OUTSTANDING goal from Jota & Nunez, incredible vision and technique from both players.

Can't believe our luck with injuries at the moment, you can only hope that they are being super cautious (unlikely I know) but lets wait and see.

Shocking refereeing performance if we're honest.

Don’t know what he was doing for that counter attack where he neither passes to Salah or Nunez.

Right at the end he had a fairly easy ball to Salah but turned and went backwards.
