Looks good. Hope we can link up the play alright without Firmino.

Have a feeling we'll see this line up today:

                 Adrian

TAA        Matip      VVD      Robbo

                 Fabinho

          AOC           Milner

        Salah      Mane      Origi

Inside info?  :o ;)

Thanks to England & Brazil for flogging Bobby and Hendo, but the right team otherwise.

No point thinking of how many we will score, just need to get through the fat bus then we go from there.

That's a lovely team. As suspected Gini and Henderson probably sharing minutes after their busy break.

Was hoping Shaqiri could sample the Firmino role, but hopefully this is Origi on the left.

You'd expect Henderson and Firmino to get on, hopefully we are doing well enough that we can give Firmino a proper rest and get someone like Robertson off too, giving some of Milner Shaqiri or Lallana some minutes to help with the fluency of the league cup team next week.

Jürgen Klopp explains two changes for Newcastle clash

Chris Shaw@__ChrisShaw

Jürgen Klopp has explained the thinking behind his two changes to the Liverpool team to face Newcastle United.

Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replace Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson as the Reds return to Premier League action at Anfield.

Ahead of kick-off, Klopp outlined why the schedule of the pre-match preparations influenced his choice of starting XI.

“Of course, we have to think about these things,” the manager told BT Sport.

“Hendo is ready, Bobby is probably ready, but it’s not about being ready – it’s a bigger picture and we have to think about that.

“We could have made more changes but we need the rhythm as well and it makes not too much sense. A lot of games are coming up.

“We did it with all, we respect Newcastle too much for rotating for rotating. We really want to have the best starting line-up we can have for the specific opponent and that’s what we thought is the right one.

“We could train with that group since Wednesday or so and that helps; OK, Fabinho came in a bit late but with all the others we could train since Wednesday. So that’s good and that’s what we try to use.”

Jeff Stelling and Soccer Saturday pushing the Mane V Salah bollocks here.  ::)

Merson reckons this has been building it up for ages.

Thommo needs to grow a backbone by the way.

Going to be a difficult game even though it should be a win all day long because one team is showing up just to sit with all men behind the ball and hope for a point. We have been pretty good at breaking such teams down, especially because of our set pieces as they can help break them down. Hopefully the rest for Mane and Salah will have done them a world of good and have them firing in goals like there is no tomorrow!

Just get the win and 3 points more on the board. Any win will do, but would be nice to demolish them.

Come on Liverpool!!!! YNWA!

I imagine someone from Sky came on RAWK after the Burnley game and thought ‘well if they’re making such a big thing out of it, maybe we should too!’
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

@OptaJoe
50 - Sadio Mané has played 50 Premier League matches at Anfield without losing – 49 with Liverpool, one with Southampton (W40 D10 L0) - more than any other player has played on a ground without ending on the losing side in Premier League history. Charm.

Also, he only needs an hat trick to get to 50 league goals for us.
