Did anyone else laugh when OJ goes 'Thank you'.

Why would you rob people with all that money though? I know I'd never rob anyone, but if I did, I'd rob football player's houses whilst they were playing in the Champions League.
I knew it was you.

well when youve "apparantly" murdered 2 people and then got off scott free and you then commit armed robbery you kinda forget about things like that

Sorry to bump this but it's better than starting a new topic. I've only just read in detail the evidence and about the trial. I knew it was widely believed he did it but I can't believe the murder trial acquital after reading all the facts. I know it's a bit late but I was only 15 at the time and used to turn over when the trial was on.

I know what you mean mate. I was only little when the trial was on but when this more recent case was going on I read up on the original murder trial, and it seems unreal.

Cochran compared one of the policemen (the one who found the glove) to the aforementioned deceased of 30th April 1945 in the trial.

he definitely did it but never had there been a bigger fuck up in the history of criminal trials than the prosecution of OJ Simpson. Johnny Cochrane successfully turned it into the trial of Mark Harmon and the fuckwittery of the prosecution team didn't have an answer.

Not sure I completely agree, Cochran turned it into a trial on race and at that time and place most people picked their side regardless of what actually happened, who’s wrong or right, the overwhelming evidence or the quality of the prosecution, it all went out of the window exactly how Cochran wanted it. Mark Fuhrman (I’m guessing that’s who you meant) might have been a member of the KKK, that didn’t mean Simpson didn’t kill Brown and Goldman but the jury seemed to think Furhman was more important than the victims.

yes Mark Furhman, DOH! The defence successfully planted doubt in the minds of the jury, Cochran was a genius getting him off despite the evidence that only he could have done it.

He did turn it into the trial of Mark Furhman, there was also some questions of what happened to the blood evidence and they painted the LAPD as incompetent.

I think in that incredible storyville documentary that was about 9 hours long, literally, but worth every minute, one of the black jurors said she and other black jurors absolutely knew he did it, but they made sure to get him off as it was getting one back, or something to that effect.

It was revenge for Rodney King.

Correct. The Rodney King trial was essentially the backdrop to OJ's and unquestionably the reason why some jurors were happy to let him walk. To suggest it was incompetence on the part of the prosecution, or because of Cochran's "if the glove doesn't fit" line, is just lazy revisionism. Those Jurors had been "swayed" long before OJ put on any glove and had their minds made up long before any closing statements were presented

Fucking amateur, you'll need a real pro to help you plan this heinous act. I'm that man, I'll help you for a 15% cut of the profit. First things first, a Twix will break after at best 2 relatively forceful hits. I suggest switching your weapon of choice to at least a Yorky bar, and allowing for budget, a KitKat Crunchy. The Yorky will give you a simple kill, but for a bit of extra money, your KitKat could easily make it so the victim can only be identified by dental records. Remember, the more gruesome, and less obvious evidence, the better, as we want a long, drawn out case for maximum exposure.

In fact, fuck this, get me on Dragon's Den. It'll be a real life Cluedo. Deborah Meaden in the Studio with a Yorky Bar.

I think I've seen an advert recently for an 'experience' where you can be on the jury.  Given the delay in my reply, I'm guessing you've taken the idea and got it to market.
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

O J Simpson showed if you have enough money & fame you can buy the best lawyers & get cleared of a crime [although helped by the incompetent prosecution], looking back was completely ridiculous that a seemingly simple murder trial took 10 months from start to the verdict, think only complex fraud cases take so long.

Their were fears of riots afterwards should he have been found guilty, remember 2 years earlier LA had large scale riots after cops were somehow cleared of beating a black motorist, their was still undercurrent of anger at LAPD at the time.

This part definitely gets understated way too much. With the Rodney King incident still raw in people's memories, it would be near impossible to believe it didn't affect the decision of any African American jury member to at least some small extent.

Given that one juror gave OJ a black power salute after the verdict was read out, it’s fair to say that race was a massive factor. Polling also showed that the vast majority of blacks believed he was innocent while whites assumed he was guilty.

Rodney King explains it, but it didn’t justify the actions of the black jurors. Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman or their families didn’t mercilessly beat King, yet they were the ones denied justice because of it.

Rodney King explains it, but it didn’t justify the actions of the black jurors. Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman or their families didn’t mercilessly beat King, yet they were the ones denied justice because of it.

Distrust of the LAPD came into it massively. The jury bought the baseless and easily disproven allegations of police planting evidence. And their distrust in LAPD wasn’t without merit.
