Liverpool borrow £20 million from General Motors..
« on: December 15, 2001, 04:48:03 pm »
Just picked this up off the newspage..(NewsNow.com)Apparently we've borrowed 20 million quid to finance a 30 million bid for Tresequet...Sounds bollicks to me.Having thought there was plenty in the coffers anyway, why would we be borrowing off Genral Motors? Let alone pay 30 mill for Tresequet.

Not sure about this loan business
As far as having money in the coffers is concerned, Fowler=£12m, Westerfeld=£3.7m, Diomede=£3m?
That's over £18m which I would say is about right for Trezeguet
Then again, if reports linking the Parma winger are correct then we'd need some more dish from somewhere, he won't be cheap either

If its true then the money will be coming from GMAC, the financial arm of GM. The money wont come from GM direct, they dont have any.....trust me on that, I know  ;)

I am very interested to hear that GMAC would loan money to LFC.  I imagine that ANY parties offering to pay interest to GMAC right now would be very tempting to the General, but if this is true, I hope that LFC got the loan at a minimal rate.  With interest rates down, and GMAC making the market in zero percent auto loans, they can't have a very tight portfolio.

I hope that the Trezeguet trade works out, if it is true.
