Anyone play this? Not my usual thing, but been on it for about a month now and it's so addictive.

Open Beta now if you fancy giving it a go - http://eu.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/12440010/

Aye, it's quite enjoyable.

In typical Blizzard fashion it's very easy to pick up and play but a lot harder to master.

Think it comes across as definitely a more casual game, which is good. You can jump in, play a few games, maybe buy a couple packs and then leave it for a few weeks and you don't feel like you've "forgotten" how to play it by the time you come back.

Definite fun if you fancy trying a free card game that doesn't require you to sit there for hours learning how to play.

downloaded this and had a bit of a play through it, enjoyable game, i've never really bothered with card games ever

this is quite easy to learn but even early on you can see tactical decisions coming into play, like keeping a polymorph handy do take out an enemy taunt character and let you easily finish off an opponent
STFU and agree with me.

Been playing for a few weeks and only bought the cheapest card pack to get the special beta card. Shall just do the daily quests and buy cards with the gold rewarded from now on and slowly get more. You can do fairly well with even the most modest of decks. I've noticed crafting a deck with loads of legendaries means you never get the chance to use them all in a single match, since they're so costly to use.

I enjoyed it for a bit, but after a while you just reach a point where you have to really start building a deck and thinking about it. I cannot really be arsed to do that. Will still play it from time to time, but I'll probably never really become any good.

Really fun to play on the iPad app that's been released now.

Love it when a game isn't just pay to win, and the daily quests keep it fresh and get you trying other classes you might not normally use or enjoy.

While I like it, I'm not that much into it long term. The only reason I play is to get more packs, which is just wierd - what am I hoping to achieve? But it's a decent game, even if League and FM are starting to overtake it again.

Just released a sort of expansion for this.

"Curse of Naxxramas".

First wing is available now and free to play, the rest of the wings will be released over the next couple months that you can pay for with money or coins earned in game.

Rewards new cards

its really well priced imo, ill probably pay for it since the coin->real money ratio is much better when buying packs

the nerubian egg has been pretty useful in ranked in my warlock deck, combos well with power overwhelming/hellfire/void terror

hovering around rank 7/8/9 at the moment, match up pretty well against everything except druid

Played one game, won the free pack and that's it but I guess it was enjoyable. The deck I got seemed to be way better than my opponents and he conceded fairly early.

Depends. Rag needs time to get his fireballs charged. Nefarion really needs to have massive board control before that happens or they're in for a world of pain.

For me Nefarion seems to be the much easier one to play. You basically get shitloads of heavy hitters, loads of (potentially) good spells and you start with five mana. If you're playing as Rag you need quite a bit of luck in the draw to make it to the end-game...

I went back and played a second game, got the other deck. He had early control but didn't really do anything with it at all. As soon as I got the second hero power it was game over, absolutely destroyed him from there.

Who's playing on RAWK? I've pretty much dropped my other online gaming now for this.

The new expansion and rule changes are a treat.

Me me me!!

I bought the expansion early and then spent $50 on another 40 packs. Shameful I know but I couldn't resist. Some really great new cards.

So far I can't get above rank 9 for the season.

Did the same mate. Fortunately I got quite lucky (compared to a lot of people) and got almost all the cards x 2, and about 2k dust. didn't get Shifter Zerus though, which I'll have to craft for some Casino Mage action ;D

When I first posted in this thread, I actually only played for a week or so, then forgot about it. Been playing seriously for about 2 months now. Getting better ranks and up to 15 this month. Want to get to a point where playing arena is free. My original mistake was playing only Mage and dusting cards for the other heroes. Meant I had a poor overview of the game as a whole.

What's your ID?

My first 50 pack (the initial buy was terrible) I got a lot of the commons and rares/epics but not much else. The next 40 packs was way way better, I got 4 Legendaries in the first 15 packs and 1 Golden Legendary which I already had so just dusted him for 1600 and let me buy another one. I didn't get Shifter Zerus either but I have 3500 is dust so can easily create him.

I started mage and still love playing it, my new C'Thun deck is mage. The faceless summoner is great, it's like the piloted shredder but you get the minion already. I also couldn't make it past 15 for the season, then I saw the Secret Deck from Paladin and now made it to level 9. Hopefully i'll be able to get further next month. Should be interesting to see what people come up with for the new cards. I know Brann Bronzebeard and the C'Thun cards are a good combination so far. Plus if you can work Twin Emperor Vek'lor in there its a bonus.

The Arena only costs 150 gold to play which should be around 2 dailies to complete. So that should be free.

My ID is Chakan#1305

Ah righto I see what you mean. I usually manage 3 wins in the Arena before I get killed. My highest is 4, I guess I need to be able to see how cards go together and make the appropriate choices.

I don't watch any H/S streamers, might be an idea to start.

I don't watch them live but 2 really good ones to watch on YouTube are Kibler and Kripparian. Kibler's fantastic to watch as he narrates his games in a really chill manner. He's a Magic: TG hall of famer, so he's got some serious provenance. Kripparian got on my nerves when I first watched him, but he's great for learning some pro plays. Kolento is probably the highest ranked streamer that's a good watch.

You look at his decks and think "they look exactly the same as mine, but he's rank 3 legend". He's such a good thinker on the game. He's taught me not to panic and waste resources which I've realised is such sensible advice.

My best is 4 arena wins too. Can't work out how people seem to get 9-win after 9-win runs. Presumably they 0-3 a lot, but don't admit to it!!

Awesome man i'll give them a watch when I have a spare moment. It'll be interesting to see how the pros actually deal with situations. I've looked at the decks that regularly get to high levels per season and created a few of them, but I only get to like level 9. Like all of them say I got to "Legend Level 2" and I have no idea how they did that.

Yeah no idea how people get close to 9 wins in Arena.

I absolutely fucking despise the latest changes, I don't want to play a C'thun deck, and I don't want to play against C'thun decks, but everyone's using it because it's so absurdly OP. Bizarre how class no longer seems to matter, because everyone's playing a variation on the same deck. Think I might take a break for awhile, because it's pretty bland at the moment.

I think it will be just a phase for the time being, I mean it only got released like 3 days ago so everyone wants to try out a C'Thun deck. I did, first thing I did was make a Mage C'Thun deck. I've seen a lot of other decks incorporating the new cards (non C'Thun), I just made a shaman deck with all new Old Gods cards, which is okayish.

I'm sure there will be competitive C'Thun decks though.

I think i'm done.

I've tried like 10 different decks now and the only that gets me anywhere is the Paladin secret deck. Either I don't see how cards are supposed to go together or i'm the unluckiest person alive. I've put together multiple decks the pro's use i've tried different combinations and I still can't get anywhere.

Frustrating the utter fucking hell out of me.
