Like his attitude. Getting on the ball and getting involved in the play. That's the kind of attitude that will get him places.

This lad really does have all the tools, he looks like a "perfect" 9 if you know what I mean. I know it's not the greatest level but this tournament has produced some great players down the years.

I think talk of him being with the u23's was just to keep the compensation down. If we don't sign a striker but do get a winger I think he'll start the season as 7th choice attacker for the front three. With one or two of those being midfield options I think he'll get a chance fairly quickly.

As for the person who said Lookman looks the standout. I really don't see it. Whilst he looks very good Solanke is playing the 10 role with aplomb, probably the hardest position on the pitch with hold up play, creativty, dropping into centre midfield and playing as striker as times.

he didn't leave chelsea's first team squad to join our under 23s.

the club is perhaps dialling down expectation but i expect him to be at least on the bench from the start of next season.

I expect that he will start his LFC career with the U-23's, because we don't really have a striker at that level. But, I expect him to get his chances in the League Cup, and if he does well, his position on the squad will probably be re-assessed.

Btw - Does he hamper Woodburn's development towards the first team? I think Woodburn won't end up as a striker.

He stole Andy Carroll's first touch.

But other than that, he looks a cracking player.

It would be mad not to gamble on young strikers these days as it seems 50million is about the starting price for good strikers.  Crazy stuff but that's where it seems to be. If this guy can walk onto the pitch without tripping he's worth 10million.

Sounds right to me. If he can ride this WC form into preseason I think we'll see him a part of the first team set up from the start.

Reckon he could be the Ings replacement. Can't see this lad leaving Chelsea to come here - in search of a better chance at first team football - if he was going to be 5th choice.

Don't think we'll sell Ings - nobody would buy him - but I could see us loaning him out to help him regain some fitness. So Solanke steps in to the 4th choice role of getting cup games etc.

From the very little I have seen of him, he's promising. Any young tall striker we get under Klopp I am just desperate for them to somehow become our version of Lewandowski.

Well, he's not going to be a first team starter for us. That's for sure.

This has really pissed off a lot of Chelsea fans and that's good enough for me !  If this lad continues on this trajectory we could see him in the first team pretty soon and then we will know if we have just got the bargain of this window. Certainly has all the attributes and needs his chance to show has that he can use them at the very top level. Looks a very good player

Venezuela have only conceded 2 goals in 6 matches. England have had a tougher route though beating Argentina and Italy on the way.

Kick off in 5 minutes, should be good

Definately should have buried that - he'll never make it here  ;D

Very impressed by his movement and he's comfortable going out wide to pick up the ball which is good to see.

Lookman looks brilliant and he links up very well with Solandowski, Calvert Lewin doesn't look all that.
