Watched the movie - Ides of March, a good cast, and some good performances, Hoffman is just a master actor, and Gosling does well. Marissa Tomei with a good little cuntish role as well. Clooney I am beginning to hate, he simply seems the same whether it is a bank heist, an assassin movie or a political thriller.
Hats off to Bill on his throne,
He set the club's standards in stone.

Watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon last night.

Hated the first 2 but actually enjoyed this one.

What? The first one is good and worth a watch, the second one is alright the third one is shite.

The only good thing about the first two was Megan Fox.

All 3 are shite but I enjoyed the third much more than the others.

The missus wants me to watch Green Street tonight. I want to watch Volver.

Shouldn't this be the other way round?
Nice reversal of stereotypes :)

Volver is very good. Almodovar, even though he is not inclined that way, clearly is in love with Penelope Cruz and his camera is a substitute penis.

However bad you think 'Green Street' may be, I guarantee it's much worse. It has nothing going for it at all. Volver is a much better film.

I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

I don't know, people getting poked in the eye is never not funny. It does look like a Three Stooges movie, wasn't expecting anything else really.
I think the film is even split up into three short stories/episodes.

Anyway, those tits on that nun, fucking hell!

I'm so gutted Benicio Del Toro and Sean Penn dropped out of the Stooges film, that would've been incredible. Sigh.

Anyway, Larry David is playing a nun in the film. Ticket sold.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/12/06/magazine/13villains.html#/brad-pitt

The New York Times invited a bunch of actors from top movies this year to get together and put together little portraits of classic movie villains. I recognized about 7 of them.

Gary Oldman's ventriloquist's dummy is incredibly good, and a spectacular party trick if anyone would care to learn it.

The Viola Davis one was freaky as fuck. Then, all of a sudden, it was followed by Kirsten Dunst trying to look attractive, and I was freaked out even more.

What a fucking munt.

Watched 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' last night.

Not sure I agree with anyone saying it's the film of the year. It was ok, pretty slow, and Tilda Swinton is brilliant as always, but the movie isn't as great as people are making out, in my opinion.

Quite interested in watching that.  I read the book a couple of years ago and it seemed unfilmable due to the way it was structured.

It's been a poor, poor year for American movies, so it probably stands out a bit more than it would in most years. Still plenty I haven't gotten around to seeing yet though.

Hollywood must be banking on their movies to induce shorter and shorter memory spans on their audiences so they're able to recycle the same ideas over and over. Crazy.

It'd be quite a relevant movie for re-release right now though.

Hollywood must be banking on their movies to induce shorter and shorter memory spans on their audiences so they're able to recycle the same ideas over and over. Crazy.

The Spiderman reboot and the various Hulk reboots (actual and planned) are other recent examples.

To be fair they used to do that a lot back in the 30's and 40's.The Maltese Falcon was made into three different films between 1931 and 1941. Warner Bros released the first version in 1931 directed by one of their in-house directors Roy del Ruth. They remade it in 1936 as Satan Met a Lady starring Bette Davis and then the most famous version came out with Bogart in 1941. Dawn Patrol (1930) was remade eight years later. They also frequently had directors remake their own films: Hitchcock's 1934 film The Man Who Knew Too Much was remade in 1956 and Raoul Walsh remade 1941's High Sierra in 1949 as Colorado Territory.

It's lazy, but it's sadly not a new phenomenon

Tbf, if done right then Starship Troopers could be a great film.

Loved it as a kid but the least said about the 2nd and 3rd ones the better.
