Fuck that.

Main hope is for injuries to numerous key players pleaseeeeee. Salibas pulled up 12 minutes in, looks like his hamstrings gone. Oh look Odegaard cant continue, they’re calling for a stretcher as he can’t walk it off. This is mad, Saka has stayed down after a 50 50 and they’re gonna have to replace him, Arteta will be sweating on the fitness of his star players

Same for City please. Sick to deathhhh of us being the ones to get ridiculous bad luck with injuries in this title race

Should be a smooth passage through to the semis for Arsenal. Don't see them having any issues getting past a mediocre Bayern team. I don't think there can be any excuses if they don't progress.

A note...

Some stream sites are now being blocked by ISPs - not all, but some - so you may need a VPN to bypass that block. Free and easy-to-use VPNs from the Chrome Web Store like... WindScribe, Best VPN by uVPN, 1VPN, and Troywell VPN... usually work fine - and there are many others to choose from. Use an adblocker too - uBlock Origin is quality for this.

Also, some antivirus software are also blocking certain streaming sites of late - not because there is anything untoward on those streaming sites, but they seem to be blocking the way adverts are delivered on the sites. It is completely up to you fine folks... but a temporary disable of your antivirus software when clicking onto a streaming site - then quickly enabling the antivirus security - after the stream appears, often does the trick...

Finally... don't leave it until our match is about to kick off to watch a stream - test one of the other footy matches available shortly before our kick off. See if those other streams work okay - and what you may need to do to get the stream working for our match. A little practice and all that... Good luck with it. :wave

If they go through, it has a physical impact. If they don't, it's mental.

Mind you the physical impact is "compensated" by the mental boost (i.e momentum, confidence, etc).

Horrible too see a club as corrupt as Abu Dhabi even in this competition. They wouldn't be anywhere near winning this again if not for outright cheating. Makes a mockery of the European Cup.

Think they don’t both necessarily need to progress (for now), but we want both tire to be right in the balance for the 2nd leg at the very least so they have to go full strength for both legs. Might lead to Fat Kev needing to be rested for a league game or two (although didn’t they have Luton next?).

Honestly, progressing is a lot more important for Arsenal because of their record. If they beat Bayern, it will gives them even more confidence that they can win big trophies. Crashing out would dent it and pile pressure on them because the league then becomes a "all or nothing affair". Beating Bayern would be huge for their mental block in Europe and they can take that confidence into the league. Given that they have not anything yet, they are not yet in a position to pick and choose.

For City, they won it last season so crashing out won't really affect them. It's more about the physical strain on their small squad and their starting to pick up niggles here and there.

Nope, need both to get twatted and go out. They've got each other in the semi's, so guaranteed one of them, likely ADFC makes the Final. Fuck that right off.

Going out is not as good as people think. If City go out, it's not like the league is in their hands.

It's still the same trophy and the mighty Liverpool are one of the few teams to defend it :D

Dunno about that
Any mental effect on a team of a result is wildly over stated imo
City have gone out of the CL most years, often in horrendous matches/results - can't remember it ever affecting them in the run in

I'll take the proven effects of physical wear and tear on a team playing more tough matches over 'momentum' or 'mental blow' or whatever

Including City in any discussion about anything like this is like including Lance Armstrong in a comparison of cyclists… they’re going to keep cheating their way to shit, they can hardly be included in discussions, they’re quite literally always the shittest example. Consider them the constant outlier statistically

I’m not saying one over the other, just said it’s underestimated and to be fair you opted for tough ties over injuries, I know what i’m picking

Realistically I think it’s better if City and Arsenal both go through. Preferably after extra time.

I think the impact of City v Arsenal in a CL semi final could be huge. It would be 2 massive, high intensity, high profile games.

I think City getting through and playing Bayern is the worst scenario for us.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

The difference is that they were used to winning the league. In the Aguero season, they almost threw it away due to a lack of experience despite being fresher. Also, Arsenal were playing one game a week in the run-in last season so momentum and confidence are underrated.

Playing one game a week doesn't guarantee that there won't be injuries.

Exactly right. The two semi final legs will be enormous - hyped to fuck, Battle of Britain clashes...more psychologically damaging to whoever goes out than if they go out at the quarters - the games will also take their toll physically (extra time and penalties after a gruelling 2n leg please ) - and ramp up the possibility of injuries to key players... absolute no brainer - come on you pair of c*nts...make it happen!
