yes i did

this weeks sob story

Friday night team

Bradley Johnson and Shane Duffy, not regular

Dier Injured, Salah away, McGinn suspended, Son injured, Ronaldo injured

on account of spurs playing twice i went minus 8 and brought in Kane for Ronaldo, Sanchez for Dier and Moura for Son

Spurs Arsenal off meaning all three off them dont play, oh and just for good measure I also had Lacazette and Gabriel

CURSED

Haha similar to mine - I'm on 40 points for the week, had Ronaldo has captain, unless he plays and scores tonight it has been a disaster and I have a lower gameweek score than all of my work league who did not free hit.

Don't know why they don't let you make a late transfer for every player that gets ruled out due to covid. For example if you do your side before the deadline and transfer in Jota then our game gets called off the day after you should be given another free transfer to use but must use it by the time the next game kicks off. The only time that shouldn't be the case is players with double gameweeks. For example, I bought Dennis before this gameweek and made him captain. He played 1 game so whilst it's frustrating he doesn't play vs Burnley I still got a game out of a player I transferred in.

If you transfer in a player with the presumption every game is on then the day after a game is called off that's just defeating the whole purpose of playing this game. The game involves luck obviously but also foresight- you have a gut feeling a player will go on a good run that not many others might have picked up on. Covid getting games off means the game isn't about anything at all now other than hoping your players don't gave games called off.

Well, arguably you could do some research into what teams are short on players or have the motivation or demonstrated past inclination to have games called off - so avoid Burnley players or anyone due to play Burnley, for example - but that is admittedly a very inexact science, and once in a while there may even be a genuine, spontaneous outbreak that prevents a team playing. The other obvious trick is to diversify your team, try to stick to one player per club.

As per the midfielders discussion - currently have Jota, Salah (committed to holding at this point I suppose), Gallagher, Maddison and Bowen. I really want Raphinha for this weekend at least. Longer term, I'll be rid of Jota to be honest. Short-term though (as in 1-2 GWs), who would you get rid of from those?

I agree, and I did it myself. Never again. Kane and Ronaldo, my least favourite people in the whole league, I'm not picking them anymore. Feels gross.

Yeah currently have Dennis as captain. If it wasn't Norwich and Burnley I would've gone with De Bruyne or Trent.

Yeah its not a player id even think of captaining normally but definitely a possiblity he will pick up a haul this week

(queue match 2 being off)

Might put one of two burnley lads in over the course of season, they have a good few games in hand

I know they are a shite team but the odd week their keeper/defence rack up points

Glad I didn't see that Watford had a double, that Burnley game must have been arranged near the deadline. I had Dennis as captain a few days ago but then decided his form wasn't great and decided to take myself up on my pledge to captainise the high-scoring defenders (Cancelo this week, but would normally be Trent), but I defo would have kept him on for a Norwich - Burnley double. I'm guessing Watford doesn't have an FA Cup game before Burnley, so Dennis misses out? Always a bugger when that happens, like a few years ago when I triple captained Sadio for a double gameweek and he got injured 10 minutes into the first leg.

Disaster having Dennis last two gameweeks. Went captain as well once I saw the double gameweek. If I wasn't wasn't for back in my league I'd probably have gone Jota captain but the double is sometimes a worthy gamble to make up some ground.

Just such a frustrating season. Going to need a lot of points from my other players now to stay in it.

I captain Dennis for dgw. Sent off

Bring in lowton for dgw. Clean sheet today.....and he didnt play

Fabianski in goal. Misses game with covid.

If I had an 8 trillion quid transfer fund and could select any player I wanted I'd probably get 22 points.

Absolutely jinxed this year.

I’m bottom of my main league after a torrid season. Takes the pressure off when you’re trying to catch-up than maintain a lead. If I could ever get a captain right I’d be right back in it. Just nothing has paid off this season. Even when I captained Salah he’d blank. One of them to write off and try again next season.

30 and out this week, but still took the lead in my mates' league from a bloke who also scored 30 but took a -4 transfer hit to get there.

Ramsdale with a huge 8-pointer, Mount with an assist, then a plethora of 2's, and of course everyone's favourite Dennis the Menace.

And all this with no COVID cancellations! Shite. Move on.

Ordinarily not a great week, but looking at the scores around the leagues it's comparatively the best I've done in months.
