There are a couple of things John.

Firstly what doesn't get mentioned very often is how often these teams who have a Head Coach/Sporting Director model change their coach. The coach becomes disposable. If you were looking for a parallel in this Country then it would be Chelsea. If you were looking for the top clubs in Europe then you would look at Bayern and Madrid.

It sounds great the Sporting Director building a squad that extends beyond the lifespan of the Coach. The problem is it creates a dressing room with more power than the Coach. Look at how many times the Chelsea, Madrid or Bayern dressing room has downed tools and seen off a Coach.

Instead of the Sporting director being held to account he just blames the Coach for not utilising the players properly.

It's also a setup which is in every American sport so something that the owners are well aware of and comfortable with.  I'm sure this has been said previously in this thread as well.

Liverpool FC Forum / Re: Mohamed Salah - Best in the World *

Salah was out of order today. After Klopp drew a line under it and said he had spoken to the player, Salah kept it going with his subsequent comment. Poor form Mo. Because now the story rumbles on, and Jurgen will certainly be asked about it again.

As for Mo’s future here on the pitch, he has another year of his contract to go. If he sees it out, I expect him to do quite well and score goals as he hopes to try for the Prem and CL again. He might be used a bit more sparingly, and not be a 90 minute man every game, but that will help him to give his best. As a player he is past his peak, but I would imagine he is better than he has shown lately, as some of that is coming back from injury, and losing form, rather than him being totally over the hill. If he stays he will still do well for us next season.

If we have a choice in the matter (Mo has the final say) then I would sell him, to give Slot the dough to reinvest as he shapes his own side. Even if the Saudis aren’t as flash with the cash, Salah will be a jewel in the crown type for them, so they will still splurge for him. Whether Mo wants to go to a footballing backwater, with plenty left to offer on the pitch, remains to be seen.

Jonathan Pearce on MOTD has clearly received a phone call and asked to say that Taylor noticed that Areola had an injury.
Not sure if commentary is live or recorded afterwards, but there is absolutely no way Pearce makes that comment in game time. No one else had a clue what was going on.
Another reason for the audio to be made available either during the game, or handed over immediately after each and every game to both clubs, so they can assess etc.
Do not allow the PGMOL time to influence, adjust, contact media etc. Allow teams to hear it in game and hand it over after every game. It is the only way to improve standards.

God, the state of the internet and media nowadays. I googled "Geertruida" and the first result's headline is: Arne Slot gets first big Liverpool setback as excellent star urged to brutally reject Anfield move

I'd rather not give the article a click, but I'm guessing the reality is "some commentator said he maybe shouldn't go to Liverpool."

I read it the other day...roughly some bloke saying it will take a while before Liverpool get up to speed with Slot bedding in along with new players so go somewhere where things are more settled. BS basically.

Some heavy arguing going on between the team after conceding the goals. I’m sure it’ll come out in years to come what caused the past 6 weeks to turn into a clowns car.

Well there's the documentary, so may well be quite a bit sooner than that.

Personally I think the club should bin it and pay off whoever we've sold it to.

Thanks man.
That is scarilly accurate.

The consensus here and in other places before he was signed was pretty much this. A risky signing for a big fee. It was all there and concerns were voiced. Not even a hindsight to be honest.

White socks?! Er......

I was wondering the same thing, but I don't think those are the official socks.

He’s a frustrating player to watch, he tries really hard and always looks busy but his decision making is just maddening.

Completely agree.

Seems like a really good guy who genuinely loves the club…. but he’s just a level below the standard.. probably due to his body type more than anything. Lacks pace and strength.  And even his skill is very inconsistent.

At least our season was already done anyway.

Imagine if winning today could have put it in our hands and that cost us. Said we'd get at least one more massive ref error to cost us a game. Thankfully we've already fucked the league ourselves over the last 5 games.

Our season was done because of the Diaz, Odegaard, Doku, Fernandes, Everton 10 free kicks to 1 debacles. Not to mention playing extra time in both the Chelsea final and United quarter finals after piss poor decisions.

Not sure if theres been any theories today on what happened but this was mine, klopp was trying to make 3 subs including Salah and Gomez, did Klopp try and get the 3 subs on at a break of play at 2-1 only for salah not to be ready and then west ham go on to equalise at 2-2 in a situation that Klopp thought Gomez would have defended better than the man he was subbing in Trent? Did Klopp go up to Salah then after the delay, pissed off and say something like "are you sure you're ready now?"

Just a theory, may be completely wrong.
