MKB I think you missed out on one of Gerrard's huge long balls. It was a diagonal to the left side in the opposition's third (near the box). That was an amazing pass.

It is almost offensive how easy it is for him to hit those passes. He is the most naturally gifted footballer I have ever seen. He doesn't even think about those passes for a second. There is no doubt in his mind when he strikes the ball.

We see it so much it becomes commonplace but it is anything but.

Agreed. He has the combination of power and precision that is unmatched. I have grown so used to the way he strikes the ball - it comes with a certain viperish "whoosh" to it - that I will miss it when its gone.

He almost strikes it too well. Sometimes I feel sorry for players on our team because he'll give each of them, at least once per game, a real fizzing pass that makes sure that your touch is sharp.
