What can be said?  Just immense again and still a youngster by centre back standards.  Great chest pump with VVD too.

he was great, but Virgil didn’t in anyway have a day off. He was excellent too. If they got past one the other was there, and on the very odd occasion they were through both they had Alisson to deal with

Last few performances have been outstanding. I’ve long held the opinion that if he can just stay fit he’ll be the best CB in the world, fingers crossed he can get a big run of games in over the rest of the season.

That challenge in the box was so good. Prompted me to turn off the commentary as they were completely ignoring it and going on about how well the Bournemouth player did to get into the box

that kind of thing happens every game for us. it's like we don't exist.

I probably spend 50-70% of most games with the sound muted.

Obviously the multiple subs disrupted our flow, but I think Ibou's removal was the most effecting defensively. They were able to get more of a foothold in our half, and started winning the knockdowns from the aerial passes. They weren't getting a sniff until Ibou went off.

I think Barnes only just left his Back pocket.
He'll win the league in the next 3 years. Quote me on that.
Quote me on this, but come next season he'll be great for us. Just needs to remove the walking headless chicken next to him

Konate has probably been better than VVD overall this entire season. That is not to criticise VVD, who is still world class, but the latter does lack a bit of aggression now, whereas Konate doesn’t.

I don’t watch many other teams play, but I would be suprised if anyone in Europe is currently better than Konate.

Surprised to only see 3 posts in this thread since the game last night. Thought he was absolutely incredible. Potential MOTM contender with Bradley and Mac Allister.

It's absurd that he isn't considered one of the best in the world by neutral fans.

I thought the yellow card was a bit harsh.  Two players wrestling for the ball and he was stronger.  I guess Tierney thought it was a cynical foul to stop Chelsea countering but it didn't even look like any kind of foul to me.

Agree with others that he was excellent again.  The rotating of our central defenders is really paying dividends for Konate so far.

Agree, but it's the case of the national media ignore our players most of the time when the 'best' are discussed. See Nunez scoring and getting criticised as they show the replay / see every discussion about Trent being about his defending and nothing else / see the likes of Saka and Rashford getting more plaudits than anyone in our side who have ridicuously better stats compared to them.

Konate barely ever gets a mention. Ever. It's bizarre.

Every single ball he played last night was the perfect ball. Long, short, diagonal, straight - his decision making was superb.

Unbelievable player.

I think he did quite well despite getting sent off, and he was easily our best defender.
Got exposed several times by Trent and VVD not doing their part, or CMs losing the ball carelessly
