The Sussex stakes just got a lot more interesting again. Sounds like Kameko is heading there now.

Good racing at York and Newbury today.

Best bet has to be Roberto Escobarr (12:45) for in form Haggas yard. By Galileo should progress from his first run. Ryan Moore booked.

5/1 seems way to big I am definitely on this.

Boom!

Great start to the day as the son of Galileo wins the Novice event easily for Willie Haggas and Ryan Moore :)

I got 7.2 on Betfair... :o

Meanwhile over in Ireland...

Having a small bet on Benruben (14:55, Tipperary) to get off the mark over fences.  Stable does well at the course but not in great form so just a small interest and see how he goes!

Haggas stable in amazing form. Following him again today.

18:00 Windsor: This is a really hot Maiden with several top yards represented. However Haggas is in form and runs Reemannie. A filly by Dubawi she should improve from her first run and step up to a mile. 8/1 (each-way) seems a big price. I'm hoping for a place and you never know ;)

20:00 Windsor: Again from the Haggas yard Star of Wins a colt by Sea The Stars... . Bit concerned whether he can get the 10 furlongs but he is related to a 12f winner in Hong Kong on the Dam side so we'll see.

Edit: I have done an eachway double. I think that's the best way to play this. If they run poorly it's not a great loss and if they place i'll at least get something back  :)

Didn't land the e/w double but I did have a few quid on as a single

Sandown

16:25: Zoetic

Filly by Kodiac (top sire). Has some fair form beaten by She Do @ Doncaster who has won since and Spright as well in that race was 2nd and has won since.  Oisin Murphy (Champ jockey) is an interesting booking and 7/1 this is a ridiculously big price win or eachway (I'm going for the win). I know nothing about the trainer i'm afraid. My research suggests he took his license out in August 2019 so he is new the training ranks but has had a few winners and is looking to make a name for himself.

I'll keep it small as ideally I want to see money for this Filly and its a bit early at this stage to know whether there is any confidence behind her.

19:15: Dubai Fountain

Unbeaten Filly who is stepping up in class by Teofilo who is a top sire of 2 year olds. She should improve and go close here. Mark Johnston stable is in good form and 7/2 is good value.  I do not rate the Favourite she is way to short.

Update:

Markets shaping up nicely. Zoetic now around 6/1 from 8/1.

Dubai now 3.85 from 4.5 (7/2) .

Very encouraging as I have taken bigger prices so things looking good.

Most Kodiac’s prefer a softer surface so be interesting to see how they go on what looks to be good to firm. Looking at the dams both are from sire’s who I’d associate with preferring soft (Dutch Art & Makfi) as well.

Hope they go well for you mind.

I checked the stats it should be ok.  He is a very versatile sire..

I stopped worrying about the ground long ago. It has cost me on more than one occasion where i've reduced my exposure due to going concerns.  Now I just take it on the chin if they don't act . You win some, you lose  some!

@duvva,

If you have a betfair account you can watch every race in the UK and Ireland for free!

Simply go to the race in the Exchange ('todays card') and click 'live stream' at the top a few mins before the off.

I do enjoy watching the Maidens and Novices races even if i'm not having a bet because they can be informative.  I keep notes on anything interesting  and follow them..

Cheers. Had noticed that, wasn’t sure how long it would last until they go back to having to have a bet on to watch but the longer the better.

Don’t have as much time to watch races I’ve not got an interest in as I’d like though!

Yeah... you used to have to bet £2 to see the race but since lockdown they have made it free.  It's really cool of them to do that.  Not sure how long it will last so enjoy it while you can.

@duvva,

If I can't watch races I usually browse this site: https://www.sportinglife.com/racing

It really is tremendously useful. You can see Fast results/full results very quickly.Trainer/jockey's etc. always worth paying attention to and valuable information.  Best of all, it's free. I've used that site for like 15 years.

Also if you dig further into the racecards they have a note on every runner.  This kind of information is what you'd have to pay for i.e Timeform (£70/month!!)

Haggas bandwagon back today...  I wonder if he can keep up this crazy form.

4:25 Ponte: Naked Lass

Filly by Champs Elysees. Has a lot of experience + fancied in the market and should improve.

Godolphin in decent form as well and I'm attracted to their runner by Dubawi (top sire) .

4:55 Sandown: One Ruler

Good luck with today’s selections Rebel.

Just seen only 4 go to post in the King George on Saturday. Enable vs Ballydoyle, but no Magical which is disappointing. I know she’s been beaten 5 times previously but I thought she had a real chance of turning the tables this time.

Should be a penalty kick for Enable, if she can't beat them there's little point even entertaining the Arc again.

More exciting news for the Sussex, Fabre added Earthlight to the entries. So, it's looking like we'll get Siskin, Mohaather, Kameko, Earthlight and Circus Maximus. Could be the best race of the entire season.

Very disappointed with the King George (our Arc) Gosden v. Ballydoyle.

I have no idea who wins... look at the Derby as an example. These well bred horses thrown together...anything can happen!

The King George doesn’t seem to draw the top 3 year olds the way it used to.

I see Darain is out at Newmarket today. Silly price but presumably if he wins impressively again they’ll start looking at bigger targets

You’d have been having palpitations if you’d taken the 1/6 on Darain about a furlong out. Won going away in the end but didn’t pick up immediately having run quite free without cover most of the way. No idea what to make of it as the 2nd has only run once previously and was unplaced but on the surface didn’t seem that impressive.

Anthony van Dyck out of the King George to leave 3. Really poor now. Such a shame that this race has really been deserted by so many possible runners. I know it’s difficult fixture wise this year but having the Tattersalls Gold Cup on the Sunday hasn’t helped.

I guess most trainers don't enter animals with no chance because they wouldn't want to ruin a handicap mark, but the prize money for 5th would be £11,000. Got to get them in there to pick some up.

Interesting that Enable clocked a very fast final quarter there, according to Brough Scott the fastest ever clocked in the King George? If so perhaps I’m being a little unkind, maybe she’s as good as ever?

Looking forward to next week at Goodwood (one eye on Galway too). Done a treble for the week 77/1, all got decent chances in very tough races.

Mohaather - Sussex
Santiago - Goodwood Cup
Al Aasy - Gordon Stakes

Last day at Goodwood a test event with a crowd. If it works hopefully they’ll open up the Ebor meeting at York, might go if they do.

Unsurprisingly given the competition Magical has won the Tattersalls Gold Cup with ease, but she looks better than ever so far this season.

Sounds like Enable will go to York for either a rematch with Ghayyaith in the International or a clash with Love in the Yorkshire Oaks. Wonder if Magical will go for the International or more likely be held back for the Irish Champion before they all meet in the Arc. Could be a great Arc this year
