Ive an old firestick and just downloaded kodi (krypton version) onto it. I guess i need to download some channels now

Can anyone point me to a guide on how to get the footy stuff onto kodi plz.
Im new to kodi etc

I prefer sticks just because they're easier to move around and are very reliable,2nd gens are good and the new 4k ones are great imo,lightning fast and handle 4k stuff with ease,both have £15 off until midnight.

Only downside is that memory is limited but why would you need bigger memory.

thanks but will amazon block alot of content if you use their device though?

looks like they dont ship them to ireland anyway. might have to try another one

I think its best to put a Kodi build now onto it it means all the best addon will be put on for you just check on Youtube there are loads of them and they usually show you what they are like and give a step by step guide to installing them.

Personally I use this build.

Can anyone help with this issue?

My dads stick works but the settings do not display, hangs on three dots. I’ve done some research and want to reset to factory settings.

Cant do it via settings, have tried the back button and right for ten seconds but this does not bring the factory reset option up. I have de registered the stick via Amazon but no success with the settings showing. Have also reset amazon apps to factory settings via es explorer. Can not think of anything else I can do. Has anyone come across this before? Have also deleted all apps.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to sort out a relative's TV for their new home and it seems as though this may, may be an option.

They have no aerial and don't watch much apart from the basic channels so essentially freeview would be required. They would find it difficult to pay for sky etc. Getting an aerial isn't much of an option really and they've tried internal aerials with not much success too.

The TV that they have isn't a smart TV albeit relatively modern, about 7 years old and they're extremely overwhelmed by smartphones/casting etc so that wouldn't work out either by doing it via that method.

I've scratched my head trying to think of a simple solution for them.

Can anyone help with alternatives? I was thinking of being able to get the freeview play app onto a NOW TV stick/firestick and sync up the BBC,ITV,C4,C5 accounts for them to use that app as their main viewing device for live tv essentially but I'm not sure that'll work? It does appear that getting them a firestick (they have fibre broadband) may be the best solution to get them to watch the basic channels...?

Think there is a freeview app for Firestick. Not completely sure but sure I’ve seen it previously.

I got this aerial early this year, and it actually works - first one I have ever tried that does. Even picks up HD channels fine. Have to make sure it goes by the window though.

Freesat not freeview but you can watch BBC and ITV live channels on their apps but would have to watch other programs on more4 and ch5 apps after they've aired.

There are apps that you can get and watch live tv but I'm not sure how good they are atm as I've not used them for ages.

Hi lads . Living in Ireland . Amazon prime video won’t stream off Firestick in IreLand due to error code 5505. Any ideas ? Amazon chat help about as useful as Jordan pickfords arms

It doesn't have GPS so you can set your account up with a UK address,I used to use Melwood

& then as you're in Ireland I'm guessing you would just use your vpn but none of that matters unless you were wanting to use it for the Prime content.

Can't get my home page to load on my Firestick, just got the index across the top (home, videos, movies, tv shows, apps, settings) and the rest of the screen is blank except for three dots trying to load the page. Tried restarting, unplugging everything, doing updates, nothing works. Trying to open an app through the apps page doesnt work either plus it doesnt show any that I've added myself anyway. Any advice, it's doing my head in!

Go to the wifi in settings and check it by pressing the play button in settings,the sign out and back into your wifi.You should be able to open apps from application manager in settings.

Nowt to worry about as it happens sometimes but you should still be able to open the apps.

Thanks, all seemed ok on the wifi but I logged out and back in to my Amazon account and that seemed to sort it!

Yeah,it will be faster,can side load more apps plus you can move it around the house.Since they added browser options after Google & Amazon had a falling out over youtube it has become the best streaming option around,they're hands down the best value for money as well.

Depends how nasty your TV is. I was watching Amazon Prime and Netflix through a Sony Blu Ray player, and switching to a Fire Stick is much slicker, stable and responsive. Also handy for travel (if we ever get to do that again).

I sideloaded stuff when I got it, but never really used it - Netflix and Amazon Prime already has more stuff than I have time to watch.
