I genuinely can't believe that. Has Klopp or ANYBODY come out and said anything??

It's a nothing game so i can only assume nobody is bothered but sooner or later a decision like that will have us knocked out of Europe or lose a league title, it may well do just that this season with the Diaz Spurs goal.

Soccer - let's face it, its not really about a game of ball anymore is it?

a loss and only 6 pages. just show how much rawk cares about this match ;D

or maybe in an alternate universe our fans have crossed the pond and started supporting blue shite after they start winning trophies. dear god i feel filthy just typing that out

through to the next round and no injuries. no negatives except the result and performance i guess. young players getting a taste of how much they need to improve to make the step up and seniors getting their legs stretched.

on to the next game

Don’t they do the ‘automated’ offside thing in the Europa?

Looked offside for the first goal but there was no replay or anything

Can only presume the delay was due to the system not flagging it offside and the officials going ‘well it looks offside, what do we do?’

The ref looked a little confused while waiting, probably expecting a quicker decision. It was that area of the pitch we have seen before it be said that the cameras aren’t set up to capture it properly :lmao
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

The right players had a game last night....and the experience will do them good.
Obviously not playing together alot the rhythmn was off but we battled well the whole way and hopefully some more opportunities will come in the next few matches if the games go according to plan

There first goal was 100% offside so will be interesting to hear what happened.

Couldn't give a shit about anything else!

It was bizarre wasnt it? No lines shown, just given. Looked offside all day, yet they spent time reviewing the handball.

Thought they were pretty agressive without much intervention from the ref. Their no 29, on 3 occasions, just put 2 hands on the back of a player and pushed them forcefully and nothing was given. Maybe he has been taking lessons from Tierney.

Was a disjointed game, with players that clearly hadnt played together and there were gaps all down the wings with little cover, but no one came out injured.

Can UEFA come out with a statement about the first goal for USG and explain what happened?

I know it's a nothing game but I don't want something like this happening in a game of substance.

As we know from the Spurs game the lack of showing lines is very "suss" as my kids would say.

We shouldn't just let them sweep it under the carpet because the game wasn't important. If they screwed up then they need to own it, at least PGMOL do that much.

Klopp putting Nunez on for half an hour was utterly mental - he’s just so odd with shit like that

Apart from that it was, as advertised, not an actual game … just a thing to get through
Think that’s a bit strong.
Unless you know the rationale for him getting 30 mins it’s impossible to judge. Ultimately we buy footballers to play games. Of corse you could argue injury risk, but given we train at match intensity, he could get injured training.

As someone said, maybe it as to get him a goal, maybe it was to keep him sharp. Either way it’s a judgement call and up to the management. The only way you can guarantee no injures is not to play or train. Even then players have still found other ways to injure themselves.

They are an average side and the scoreline should reads as good for us as it does them IMO. They needed a win, we didn't, we were playing at home with our youngest ever European line up, we had a couple playing who just looked as if they didn't want to get injured, and their first goal was offside. Pitch was shocking too.

I imagine if Villa were to draw them in the Conference League they'd win both legs by a couple of goals if not more. It was a nice group for us where we could rotate and win a few games comfortably.

Wouldn't read too much into it from the perspective of our younger players though. It was the more experienced ones who let themselves down. Bradley started out a bit shaky but got a bit more composed and forward thinking on the ball, Gordon struggled to get involved but hasn't played for the first team in nearly two years and is still only 19. Quansah continues to show his potential too. Thought he might as well have played McConnell for 90 minutes too.

Happy for Quansah, Gordon showed some nice touches. Don't think playing out on the left helped Doak a great deal. Think he looks like a player who is in need of a loan to get consistent playing time. A Championship side with eyes on a promotion push would be ideal.

This sums it up for me. And I agree it was the more experianced players who didn't impress.

To be fair to the lads, that would have been the first time ever that 11 was playing together.

They're not a pub team, they are top of the league.
