Best of luck to the guy. I'll miss him, and would rather he would have stayed if just for the cover, but I completely understand why he'd want to leave and we should be ok, touch wood. Hope he has fun at Cagliari.

It's sad to see him leave. Whenever he was called upon, he put in a shift, did his best, and never complained about the lack of playing time. If Matip, Gomez, and Lovren can stay fit, we should be fine. That's a big if though.

I can respect that he wants to play and he can play at the Top flight for a few more years. One of the more likeable backups when compared to the likes of the Coles, Voronins, Jovanovics and Degens. Good Luck to Ragnar Klavan. He contributed when called for. Will forever remember his Burnley goal at the end. That was a great moment to cherish! Lovren's assist and King Ragnar's goal.

I think Gnurglan always says it best with squad strength and depth etc, but if we don’t think VVD/Lovren/Matip/Gomez is enough for a season then we would have binned one of them off and got someone else.

Sad to see him go, he was a really solid 5th choice. And given how injury prone choices 2 to 4 are it wouldn’t have been surprising to see him get double digit games this year.

It’s surprising too that he’d give up the opportunity to be part of a squad that really look on the verge of big things. He’s had a career of playing for Calgiari size clubs, not many players of his ability get the chance to contribute to a potentially trophy winning team.

But, I guess he’s motivated by playing regular football which is totally fair enough. All the best Raggy, aitäh.

Always came across as being a great bloke who gave 150% when called upon. A really positive signing. I hope he has good memories of his time here. Cagliari is a good club and Sardegna is a great place to live. Good luck to you and your family Ragnar.

I’d class him as a solid mid table centre half,just not quite good enough for regular football at the top end of the league. Never let us down and gave his all in a red shirt,well in Raggy and good luck YNWA.

He was a very good backup, simply put!

Ended up making 40 starts over two seasons, 53 apperances overall, pretty good going really!

Just one of them squad signings that worked out very well. Good teammate, good solid player when called upon.

Kind of surprised he wasn't picked up by a premier league team. He's definitely better than some of the donkeys you see turning out around the foot of the table. Maybe we decided to grant him his wish to leave late on, or he saw Gomez being picked for the season opener and made a decision after the early window closed. Either way it's safe to say there's at least 10 squads he'd improve in this league and possibly 3 or 4 first 11's, at least for a year...

Was our best defender last season till we signed Van Dijk. There are defenders here I would have sold before him - Matip, for instance.

Best of luck to him. He'll do well in Serie A - the league is an awful state in terms of defence these days; he'll be one of the league's better defenders.

Not sure which klavan most of rawk was watching, he was not good enough for us when called upon, often got caught out and failed to prevent goals where top defenders might have. Solid is the last word I would use to describe him in our system. A reactive defender whose reactions weren’t very good. Good luck to him in Italy, there’s obviously a reason he was so popular among his colleagues and by all accounts a model pro. I’m quite relieved that we are aiming higher and putting faith in Gomez who has a ridiculously high ceiling. Top management by Klopp.

His first season was up and down, but he was irrefutably very good last season.

I vaguely remember two or three games he was poor, apart from them he was solid, not exceptional but what was needed.

Every club needs a Klavan. Says a lot that whenever he came on you were never nervous or bothered. A rock solid steady Eddie. Had hoped he would do one more season, but I guess he wanted more playing time, so good luck to him.

He did his job.

I got the impression when he signed he was here to be solid back up for a couple of seasons and that’s exactly what he’s been.
