I'm DEFINITELY in on this if you can set it up
Alright folks. I setup something over at Yahoo!

The league name is RAWK Fantasy Football.
League ID: 485718
The password is: redmen

We've got a standard head-to-head league with standard scoring.

Right now a Live Draft is set for Sunday, August 27, at 1pm EST (East coast American time). That time, and the type of draft can be changed (just let me know any preferences or problems).

Anyone is free to join, as long as you don't mind losing. :D

I'm in but just realised I am not here for the draft on the Sunday as I am away for the weekend in Edinburgh.

Shall I forget it or is there a way of changing the time?

Moving it to the same time on Monday would be ace but if its a hassle don't worry.

Folks, you ask and you shall receive.

New draft time is Monday, August 28 at 1pm EST (American time - adjust accordingly).

Just for the record, I can (or should be able to) change any of the settings prior to the draft.

Yeah, you can pre-rank if you can't make it. To be safe, I would allocate at least an hour to the draft. It's going to depend entirely on how quick people are to pick.

Hey gang
You can just go in and register, pre-pick your top 150 players, then let "autodraft" handle the rest for you.  ;D That's what I've done. I won't be around tomorrow for the draft, but didn't want to miss out.

Tomorrow? Right now the draft is set for the 28th.

If you guys want to do it during the week that's fine too, I just need a time to settle on. Another option is that we can scrap the live draft completely, and just set up our auto-draft lists, and let the chips fall as they may.

Let me know what you think...

My thinking too.

Leave it until as late as possible late next week. Pre-picks are ok but the idea of a live draft is cool.

Ok, so as late as possible, preferably a live draft (amen!).

The season starts Thursday, Sept. 7. We should have the draft done no later than the 4th or 5th so people have times to work through waivers, free agents, and to make initial trades before the first game.

Personally, I would suggest early evening on the 4th, though I know that would create some time issues for people on the West Coast of the US (still at work) or in the UK (being with the kids/wives/dog/friends).

Another idea we could take into consideration is to simply do the draft during one of Liverpool's games. Most of us seem to be online then anyway, and we'd be able to finish the draft, if we're quick, by halftime, and if we're not, by the end of the game.

Once again, let me know what you think.

Note: This is also posted over in the forum in the division.

p.s. We still need one more team (8 is perfect!)

Not a problem gents. I do what I can to increase the feeling of comraderie that we already share. Plus, I need more Liverpool folk in my non-Premierleague life. I've got too many Manc, Arse, Chelsea, and [insert club from Italy, France or Spain here] friends around me as it is.

But anyway, the time slots for setting drafts are quickly dwindling, so let me know ASAP what the preferred time is so we can get this ball rolling.

p.s. We still need ONE more.

I hereby claim the 8th spot, and in the great tradition of the Green Bay Packers will pick a squad based on rookies, crocks and has-beens.

I'm drafting in my face-to-face league on Saturday afternoon (BST) so will be on auto-draft to avoid being so drunk as to pick an all-Packers offense.

I actually think it's physically impossible to pick an all-packers offense. Either your brain will automatically shut off, or Yahoo! will kick you off its servers in an effort to protect the integrity of the game.

Oh... welcome :D

Oh... welcome :D

Believe me, my brain will be well shut-off by Saturday night ;)

For those UK based people, here are the confirmed early-season televised games (Sky):

07/9 - Pittsburgh Vs Miami
10/9 - Carolina Vs Atlanta, Jacksonville Vs Dallas
17/9 - Miami Vs Buffalo, NY Jets Vs New England
24/9 - Pittsburgh Vs Cincinnati, Arizona Vs St Louis
1/10 - Carolina Vs New Orleans, Washington Vs Jacksonville

Still waiting to see what Five will show; expecting MNF as normal plus Sunday Night games once Baseball finishes.  Not sure whether we'll get both games on the first Monday though...

I saw the maximum number of teams increased from 8 to 10.  It's a great move; hopefully we get two more teams because eight isn't really enough in fantasy football.  With ten teams you'll have to use a little more skill in how you draft.

Thanks Chink - Sky don't have the rights to Monday Nights - they are owned by (Channel) Five.  Nothing on their website as yet, but they've been quite consistent for the last few years.  Plus coverage is led by fanatic Red Colin Murray who co-presents with Mike Carlson.

A man after my own heart  :wave

Ok, folks, the draft is set for Saturday afternoon/evening, Sept. 2nd (3:30pm US Central Time / 4:30 US Eastern Time / 9:30pm UK ).

If anyone has a problem with that time and isn't willing to just set an autodraft, let me know ASAP, either here in this thread, via PM, or using the forum in the league.

The dates and times offered by Yahoo for a draft are quickly dwindling, so my options in picking an alternate slot are limited.

Other than that, let me be the first to wish everyone good luck. Regardless of how it pans out, a 'Pool fan will win.  ;D
