fancy the steelers to win it now....thought the winner of that game would go on to win it, specially with the patriots crashing out yesterday.

dont count out the seahawks, dont get much respect due to lack of eastern coverage, but with alexander(if fit) and hasselbeck they are going to be hard to beat.

Phew! Bettis, the running meatball, almost cost them the game with that fumble. Happy to see my team Steelers through. Means another two late nights of NFL for me this season. Can't miss the Super Bowl.

Amazing game, nervy ending for Steelers fans.

Excellent finish although if it had gone into overtime and the Colts had won then I think the Steelers would have been cheated out of the game as Polamalu's interception was fine and AGAIN the referees fucked up! (Just like last night for the Pats)

Yeah, I don't understand how the referee could take that long to review the play and still make the wrong call. The quality of officiating has been in serious decline since the NFL started using instant replay in my opinion.

For the last 2 months I've read countless magazine and newspaper articles about how the Colts are destined to win the Super Bowl this season. Well, it ain't happenin'. That was a great game but does it get any worse than that last second field goal attempt to tie it? ;D. Manning for some reason chose to rip apart his offensive lineman afterwards which is uncharacteristic and reeks of frustration. Hope the Steelers win it all.

I am a happy man - I got off the airplane at San Jose airport and saw that the Steelers were up 18-3.  By the time I got my rental car and to the hotel it was 21-10, and that finish was wild.  Holy cow, as Myron Cope would say.  What a game.

The black, the gold and the three hypocycloids march on to Denver.  Whoever wins in Denver will unload on the NFC teams in the Superbowl.

Backed the Steelers during the Wildcards at 25/1 and had on a tenner. That finish had my nerves going crazy.

Now for Seattle to win the NFC next week for another winning bet.

Have sneaky suspicion the colts won't be at the big show, none of the stars have played for 3-4 weeks and must surely lose some of the rhythm they held earleir in the season.

I know it's rude to quote oneself but feeling smug tonight! Even if steeler's were almost the victim of the biggest arse raping since sao paulo, easily the worst call I have ever seen in my years of watching the game.

Made for a great end to the game alright though but thank god the colts didn't go on to win it. Denver must be delighted, but will certainly take nothing forgranted against a team in great form. With panthers playing well (so far at least) and seahawks impressive, it could be far closer 'bowl than people are making out.

To be fair to Manning, he didn't have protection today.

And what a team, and what a QB Delhomme is!!!!!

The Broncos-Steelers game will be great.  Broncos to start as favourites.

Was listening to ESPN radio last night and they were talking about how dissapointing it is to have a Superbowl without Payton Manning or Tom Brady and that the majority of football fans are not happy with the way that that playoffs are turning out  :wanker
God forbid there should be a little unpredictability in the playoffs.

With Eli it seems that it takes a little while for him to adjust to the speed of the game...he had big trouble with it in his rookie year and when teams made adjustments in the second half of the season he ran into more issues.

I still think he'll be fine and believe it or not will have a better chance to win a Super Bowl than his older brother.

No.  Daunte Culpepper has more chance of winning a Super Bowl than Eli.

And does the Seattle Seahawks count as a West Coast team ? (;D)  I am scared they might win the SuperBowl (come on, the probability is clearly 0.25, and even more if you filter in home field advantage etc...).  I have always maintained that a West Coast team will not win it in a long time (even USC didn't win it).

I also said that this season Manning won't win it (will he ever now? This looked like his best shot), and that the Pats will definitely not win it.  The moment Rodney Harrison went down, I knew that was a season ending injury and without Rodney, the Pats cannot win a superbowl.
