We're coming into March, this ain't a false position for them this season.

They have a lot more first choice available now than they had for a 2-3 month chunk of the season when they really had a slide. They’re not great but I’d expect them to rally and finish about 10-12th.

Thanks for the OP Nick.

I predict Brentford players falling down everywhere at every opportunity and then a ton of high balls and free-kick moves landed right on top of Kelleher. I predict that if we can deal with these situations we will win by 2 goals. If we can't ....
I predict a tall Liverpool team. I hope Joey starts as well as Konaté and Virg. We're gonna need 'em.

If we play Endo and Mac, needs to be as a double pivot … we saw in first half versus Burnley we can’t progress ball forward without Mac in 6.

Otherwise if it’s Mac as 6, I’d go Elliott over Gravenberch. Presses better and the height shouts, versus Brentford, wouldn’t matter as Grav is none-existent in air anyway.

Though he might go Gakpo, who knows.

bradley has been superb for us in all his appearances

i am shocked at the number of people that think gomez will play

gomez will play on wednesday as part of the rest and rotation

Gomez has been one our most important players this season, it's very weird to be "shocked" that people are calling for him to start! A few seem to be underestimating the threat that Brentford will pose from set-pieces.

Excellent OP Nick
Excited for this game. I would prefer not have Mac/Endo/Jones as the midfield would lack the creative final 3rd passer that Elliott, Dom and Gravenberch are. Have not liked Mac Allister more advanced in the games he done it.

Hopefully it’s a Bournemouth type performance where Ali didn’t touch the ball for 80 minutes.

Hopefully it’s a Bournemouth type performance where Ali didn’t touch the ball for 80 minutes.

They'll get within free-kick distance of the penalty area and start flinging themselves over. We're going to have dominate possession in their half as much as possible because I don't think we'll get much help from the officials.

True. That Bournemouth game was an excellent performance even before we smashed in 4. We were always in control, need the same tomorrow. McAllister is key.

It’s the line up everyone has pretty much predicted. The only question mark was between Bradley / Gomez at RB.

We still have a really good side out despite three starters being injured.

Brentford conceded a shit ton of chances at home to City but were also super dangerous in attack with long balls to Toney / Maupay.

We haven’t won there in the PL and conceded three in both occasions.

Bogey away team.

Just get the 3 points.

We've played away at Brentford 3 times since I was born. First time was about 1983 or 1984 in a cup game which we won. Last 2 have been the last 2 seasons which have seen a draw and a defeat. Hardly a relevant sample size to be calling them a bogey team.

not really. don't thin Robertson was nailed on and definitely didn't expect to persevere with Endo at 6 and Mac at 8 with no Elliot, after the problems last run out.

Mac has been in the 6 all season so it was always going to take a few games to adjust to a change in position. I assume he starts on the right but it'll be interesting to see if Klopp does anything different with the positioning today.

Suspect it’s right.

Elliott could have started but midfield lacks steel when he starts.

Think we should use a double pivot here with Jones kind of roaming. FBs will provide width.

Scummy, horrible, downright fugly win will do nicely with no injuries thank you very much.

For me though. getting a clean sheet would be immense as well, as the boost that would give at this stage of the season against what is always a dangerous and unpredictable side should not be underestimated

Not a fan of playing that midfield 3 again against much better opposition than last week who are hard to pass through

Brentford are decent but the ‘play the big tall lads .. play the physical lads’ is over done .. they’re not stoke under Pulis … we need dominate the ball and create - put Mac back in his best position

Shape will be different tho.

Bradley won’t invert.

Plus we were fine last week in first half even without Elliott.

Klopp has rarely put out a team to specifically counter an opponent, he will have confidence Bradley pushing on will limit their left forward getting forward.

Just need to not give away stupid fouls anywhere in our half as they will milk it.

Plus we were fine last week in first half even without Elliott.

We were home vs the joint worst team in the league and created almost nothing in the first half, it was poor … then they got tired and dropped off and we looked much better

That said Brentford will bypass midfield so in a way it’s not critical .. if there wasn’t a leaked team I’d have expected 4 forwards and a double pivot for this

Feels like the sort of game we concede first in. Really up against it here with the injuries, exactly the sort of game our top four rivals will be watching with interest. Would be a big statement to come away unscathed.
