We’ve been awful all half and Arsenal have been excellent but we go in level.Surely these will tire in the second half , unleash Darwin and we go home with three points

Goal of the season aside, that was a rough watch.  Said it before the game, Gomez and Trent as fullbacks is a weird balance and we've got Joe inverting and Trent keeping the width, but Gomez just doesn't have the necessary level of ability on the ball against a team that presses like Arsenal.

well deserved equalizer.  ;D

seems so obvious what nunez and salah brings. pace behind and a threat.

our current front 3 is so toothless. need a change in tactics or personnel

I’m not sure what the ‘tactical’ reasons were for leaving Nunez out, but it’s basically allowed Arsenal to push up and condense the space in front of them so we can’t play through, with no threat of anyone running in behind.

Yeah it's baffling, even more baffling when we are already missing Salah.

We have been really poor.

The shape hasn’t worked.

Hasn’t worked first time we player them, but for some reason we’re trying the same approach. Inverting Joe was a bold move that hasn’t quite worked out. The dutch fellas have been poor, we look half the team without Nunez’s presence.

1-1 we’ve got this.

Thiago and Darwin on soon please, we need some pace and we need someone who can actually pass the ball.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Arsenal have played like a team who have to win today, hopefully we will make some adjustments early in the second half as we need better balance.

Not a pretty game that. Van Dijk shouldn't be playing offside when Konate is so deep. Even so shit like that can happen but we've lacked so much intensity.

Get Gakpo off for Nunez and Harvey for Gravenberch. Sometimes I watch this lad and think no wonder Tuchel got shot. Like he does the hard work but then loses the ball, pass the ball ffs, it's supposed to be a simple game.

Anyone know if we got a shot on target in that half, lads? Wish the comms would've mentioned it.

Not sure if we've so obviously second best in any other game this season. Absolute pure and utter shite. Nunez for Gakpo ASAP please and anyone for Gravenberch, just absolute anonymity from him.

Love this team. The mentality is absolutely massive. Taylor as predicted a disgrace giving every Arsenal player a free when they dive yet waving play on when we get fouled.  :no

One of the great goals in recent memory.

Was about to say the forwards can't make it stick at all, but Diaz's persistence pays off.  Midfield played through too easily.

All in all, MacAllister and Konate have improved since their difficult starts.  Still tough to watch as Arsenal have us pinned back, but hopefully we can tire them out in the second half with Darwin's pace off the bench to come.

We’ve got to be the happier team going into half time here. We’ve not been in the game, yet coming in level. We can’t be worse than that in the second half.

For milionth time this season, Gravenberch is not suited for these games for now. I don't know how, but we need to play around it with Szobo and Endo missing. We need rethink in general, Arsenal really pushed us this half.

Nunez in is a no brainer. Would like to know what the reasoning was, but it's not working lmao.

Great job Diaz.

Will take that scoreline obviously, this is four games in a row though iirc where we've played the first half against Arsenal like we weren't expecting their level of intensity and physicality. We've just been bodied pretty much all over the pitch, with no option but to launch it up to forwards who are very unlikely to win the ball and threaten from there. Don't think we've sustained a single attack for more than the first phase.

not our greatest 45. their midfield is completely dominating ours. gravenberch and jones are good players but today they're no match for rice and jorginho.
going in level is a massive stroke of luck. looking forward to our usual second half improvement and battering this lot.

Yeah it's baffling, even more baffling when we are already missing Salah.

Wasn't he a doubt for this due to injury? There's no way he gets left out for tactical reasons, no way.

We've not been as bad as some think in here, it hasn't been good but we responded reasonably well after going 1-0 down, lucky break with the goal but it gives us an even better platform to build on 2nd half. Nunez needs to get on though.

Not a good half. They have the ball, they have the initiative and are the ones who make things happen. Lucky goal from Diaz, but it shows how crucial it is for us to stay alert. Hope we can find the keys to get us going in the second half.

Technically 1 nil to the Arsenal

As surely that’s disallowed as Arsenal can handball in the box…

If that didn’t go in would it have been a pen?

We’ve been shite…

The midfield looks weak as fuck…

Would you risk Thiago?

Nunez for Gakpo or Jota…

Jota has barely had a kick
